which encap product should I use for this job???

Iv been tinkering with the encap here and there with a 175 at some of my accounts. I have a new account we are starting soon, the facility is open 24 hours, 3 years old been being cleaned with powder cleaner. They have some heavy traffic lanes, they arent happy with the current cleaner , to me the traffic lanes arent to bad , but they are noticable, a little truck mount action should take care of it. Iv pretty much sold them on encap, after the initial HWE, its an athletic type club, and they do vac daily, actually twice a day. Do I need to do some encap right after I do my HWE, or next month after the HWE start the encap with the cimex??? At another similar facilty I did encap on one part of a major walkway with scotts foam 2x, I got at interlink, and after 2 monthes I can tell a difference in that area, it does look a little cleaner. What are some good products I should consider for this client??? This one could be me buying my first cimex machine, Im hoping interlink will rent me one for my first cleaning, before I cough up the cash for the machine.

Depending on the carpet and stains I would hwe first, then run a 175 after just to help it dry faster and to help out with any wicking issues.

The only encap juice I have ever used was Snake Oil with my 175 and it turned out great! I have heard a lot of good things about ReleaseIt too.

scots foam dry 2x is easily hands down the best product to be used with the cimex!

After 8 years I never "coughed" once, Realesit for pre-scrub and punch for rinse
    Realesit DS for scrub only

Hey Shane, can you elabarate more on the rinse??? Iv just been using the foam x as a one step, once over with the 175. Can I use my normal products for my pre-spray and hwe extract, then apply the "encap"??? Also do I apply the encap, the day I do my HWE or do I do that next month when i start the regular encapping??

    well thats good!
i know a few people that have...and even a few posts on here i believe that people have brought it up in the past.

Scots has encap HWE products as well Matt, give your local dealer a call and they should be able to explain them to you.

    http://www.scotlabs.com/products.asp?zone=10&detail=1

if your going to clean by low moisture ...use foam dryx2
if your going to hwe use powermax or tuffguy for example

Whatever, its a marketing ploy and now i would never buy from you for using gimicks

Matt excellentsupply has an encap product you can use for the rinse and run it through your truckmount or portable. It is Realesit Punch
In normal office seetting we would prescrub with cimex/reaseit DS, then extract and use encap punch as a rinse

Re: which encap product should I use for this job???

i have nothing to do with selling their products i just use them

like ive said in many of my replies test the products head to head ..dont believe a word im saying shane
i use MANY different brands! i use different products for different situations
like i mentioned for pure " scrubbing" foam dry x2 has been the best product ive found for that, test it your self. What do you have to loose?

vacaway just brought out a hwe encap product as well, dirt assassin and dirt assassin green
    http://vacaway.com/vaDirtAssassin/
    http://vacaway.com/vaDirtAssassin/GREEN.htm

there are many brands out there

i just see everyone has limited knowledge of encap products so i like to help out by informing that there are many other Great ! products out there

    but seriously...a marketing ploy? lol
go through all my old posts if you would like
vacaway's encap green, hos's environ HP and foam x2 are probably 3 of my fav's ....three totally different companies
each are have their own strength's ...for pure scrubbing i prefer x2, for pad capping environ hp and enc green do a fantastic job!

Re: which encap product should I use for this job???

Thanks for the advice guys. On a side note I was at one of my test accounts today, its a monthly mostly tile and grout, and one carpet walkway about 100 feet long. They have 2 trashcan areas that are the worst part of the carpet. IV been doing a 20 foot or so spot for 3 monthes now with encap,One of the trash can areas, so I can compare it to the other, actually the worse of the two.It is defenitely better now, seems like with the encap at this particular job will be better. My client said today, start using it on the whole walkway

Shane I use Realist product and couch all the time. It's a great product but me and my employees always couch when we use it. So there is definately some truth behind that claim.

EncapGreen I do not cough with.

After 8 years and 2 teams cleaning commercial 6 days week have never had the problem, maybe you are mixing it too strong or have the wrong tip or setting on pump sprayer. No way for me to know, i just know we have never had the problem with enough volume/experience specific to commercial work and this specific product to have an opinion. It is just our opinion

How to Qualify an Encap Product:
The most important thing is the crystallization of the product when it dries, second is how quickly you can clean with it, third is how long it stays clean, fourth is whether it makes you cough or not! HAHA (Joke)

It is true Releasit Encap Clean may make you cough if applied incorrectly. In most situations you would use the product in a shower feed application and you would not inhale it, but if you use a sprayer with a tip smaller than .06 it will atomize and you can inhale it. The reason it may make you cough is because the Detergent (Magnesium Laural Sulfate) can irritate the mucus membrane in your throat when inhaled. Magnesium Laural Sulfate is the strongest of the sulfate detergents (BIG GUNS)! Think about shampoo you use on your hair, adult shampoo will burn your eyes, but baby shampoo won't! We have chosen not to change the detergent base to this specific product because of it's robust power and performance.

We have 6 products in our Releasit line and Encap Clean DS is the only one with Magnesium Laurel Sulfate.
We have Encap Basic which is a no cough formula and the cost is much lower if it is an issue!
Also Encap Punch is CRI approved.

Re: which encap product should I use for this job???

Laurel Sulphates, the surfactant or foaming agent referred to does cause eye, skin irritation. There are four categories. They include Anionic, Nonionic, Cationic and Amphoteric. Amphoteric and Anionic are the types found in most shampoos, conditioners and lotions. Anionic are the cheapest and foam the best while Amphoteric are the mildest group and are used in shampoos for their conditioning abilities. I am not sure exactly which one is used in the ones that make cleaners cough. This in itself is bad enough and the jury is out as to whether or not it is safe or not.

However one point is missed in these arguments. Chemical cocktails. While many companies claim that the sulphates used are safe there is still a danger with some we refer to as the “chemical cocktail”. When many ingredients come into contact with one another, some will bond forming cancer causing nitrosamines. This is where the danger lies. To be realistic, there is no way cleaners could test all of the combinations of chemicals available. So, while some chemicals may be mild or classified as safe independently, once you combine them, dangerous things can happen. Just because one ingredient is so called "safe" doesn’t mean the molecular structure of the combination of chemicals isn’t potentially damaging.

So for example many use a lot of chemical combinations such as TEA (triethanolamine)in their "chemical cocktails" in their shampoos as a detergent. According to the Wall Street Journal Nov 1988,they linked Laurel Sulphate to cataracts and nitrate absorption (nitrates are carcinogens-or cancer causing substances).

So the equation is LS + TEA = NDELA (a nitrosamines and a recognized carcinogen).

Re: which encap product should I use for this job???

I tested 20 or so encaps and always go back to Releasit DS.
and FWIW a 175 will never do what a Cimex can do.

If your chems are making you couch then get off the couch....if they make you cough then dont use them in a sprayer use them in a Cimex

I wouldn't brag about that Drew. All that does is puts you in Rug Dr's class.

TMF Encap Pro is triple strength and we're not sell outs.

Re: which encap product should I use for this job???

Im picking up my Cimex monday. Doing 20,000 s/f tuesday and wednesday night, gonna try a few products out. I have scotts foam x, with oxygen booster to add, I have realisit also, might see what else they have, and look for some of the others you guys mentioned. I didnt notice a difference in the smaller jobs Iv used realist and scotts on,seemed the same. I havnt tried the scotts with the o2 additive yet.
IV got the contract sold finally, got caught up in a new manager change, but anyrate this one is 20,000 s/f, next month 8000 then off a month, then start over, they wouldnt go for my other plan with catching a few areas every month, then the 20,000, 8000...etc...

We will see how this goes, Im anxious to see how much better the cimex is then 175 machines...
