I saw the thread about using micro-fiber or cotton bonnet pads for VLM or Encapsulation. So that got me wondering which bonnet would be best for post padding a HWE carpet cleaning job. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Rob

Glad pads, for 3 reasons...
1) they hold more water and dirt then cottons do, so you don't have to change pads as often,
2) they last a long time
3) they are very gentle on carpet fibers

Thanks Andy, they seem great. But when I looked on their site it looks like they don't have any 13" for RotoVacs or 17" for 175's.

For a 17" machine it's usually best to get a 19"pad.

Excellent supplies as a blue micro fiber pad that works well for my orbot they have a pad in side that absorbs a lot dirt. I encap berber only. The micro fiber works well after HWE along with Hydrox encap. It helps its from wicking and brighten the berber.

Rob,
Just started using Excellent Supply Fiber-Plus pads for agitation with my 13 inch rotary. Had to order 15 inch and trim with scissors. Case of 5 $27. Want to try encapping soon and these pads are what they recommend.
For post padding after HWE (berber) found 14 inch pads at Janilink @$16 per pad . Searched and searched for 13 inch pads and this was the best I could find.

OK, Google is not helping me... what is the website?
I use the bonnets from Powr-flite and they are OK and pretty durable.

Andy'

right you always want to go 2 inches bigger than your machine this will get into corners and along the edges

I like cotton pads because I feel that they have better absorption. Also I agree with George and Tom, its always better to use bigger pads because they can also help avoid damage to baseboards.

Rob,

Hey Rob, I use a 19" closed loop cotton bonnets on my 17" Mastercaft floor machine. I installed a riser adapter on my 17" pad driver, otherwise the outer rows will cut in motion from the base. Plus Mfg.-800-776-2966. I have used my bonnets for 2-years, I wash with Oxy clean at the local laundry mat. BTW your new box van is awsesome. Give them a call and ask for Ivan; he got me started in this business. Good Luck Greg.

Closed cotton loop is Ideal for post HWE and yeah go bigger at least 2 inches.
however.. I switched to the low profile cotton. It has an absorbent center, closed loop design and never wobble during use like standard cotton loop does. I do keep both on hand not fond of the mocrofiber but keep them as well for polishing wood floors.
