I tried the new revamped low voc zone perfect from Bridgepoint and I like it. It has all the looks and smells of Ultrapac except that (unlike Ultrapac) it has the power to clean too. Zone perfect performs well as a prespray for normal soil carpet and works fine on wool and cotton upholstery too. Besides the nice smell, it also is more concentrated, I only need to use a 16oz cup into the hydroforce and run the yellow tip (1:8) other presprays I have had to use up to 32oz for the same result. Zone perfect mixes easily too, using a courtesy hose from the truckmount is best. It foams a bit if you use a kitchen tap, but is not foamy when using it on the carpets. We have done hundreds and hundreds of dollars in cleaning on a single jug and I still have some left, so my chemical costs are down using this product as well.
Thats good to hear I just bought a gallon of the new stuff and trying it out for the 1st time wednesday.
You'll like it if you use it right. Remember its not the stuff you use on heavy soil. Use it on the reasonably soiled residential and save your heavy duty stuff for the trashed carpet.
The home I'm doing isn't too bad, but I wouldn't mind trying on a trashed place anyway to see what happens. Maybe just add citrus solv.
Actually I tried it on a trashed rug today, **** should of took some pics. Rug had tons of drink spill splotches everywhere, landlord thinks it was wine, cleaned it up in one pass. I just put a hint of traffic slam in it too.
Chemicals Just wanted to let you know that I had an interesting conversation with Sherman Guffy and crown cleaning in Orlando this past week and he told me that many of the base chemicals that bridgepoint and prochem use are the same. The difference is the surfactant package the companies work to put into the product. By the way he is the chemical go to guy for prochem much like Scott is for bridgepoint. I have been using ultrapac mint for quite a while. Before that I used zone perfect for about a year. I have always used some prochem products and once I switched to ultrapac, both mint and regular I found that my cost went down when compared to zone perfect. And I am like you I use ultrapac on the residential homes. Dilution ratio is between 10 and 16 oz in hydroforce with a little bit of citrus solv. Richard
I certainly cannot speak for everyone, I know opinions differ about Ultrapac, but I have been trying to make that stuff work for years, ever since I first started as a tech for another company over 10 years ago. Ultrapac has never performed for me, ever. I keep trying it again every few years, wondering if my techniques and equipment may make a difference and still the same result, twice the work, half the results. I just dont get it, Prochem is a top notch company with dozens of full time chemists on staff. That is all they do is study the effects of detergents and presprays, spotters etc. These people should be producing a top notch cleaning product and they come up with this Ultrapac that cant even clean a regular soiled residential carpet unless you do it twice with a lot of elbow grease. Other cleaners say the opposite, they like the stuff, they say it cleans well, I dont know what my problem is, but I try just about any other prespray and I get great results. It just doesnt make sense, Ultrapac is my nemesis!
Its great to have useful post's like this one, I use Zone perfect fo residential carpets followed by end zone for the rinse agent and it works great! for the greasy and beyond normal soiling I use Flex followed by end zone for rinsing and this combo also works tremendous for me too... for the real bad stuff I will boost flex with a citrus solve about 1-2 .oz per gallon. hope this helps.peace
I don't know... I just used this stuff today with CS in it, on carpet over pad in a car dealership. It was only 3 months old but pretty dirty and I wasn't too impressed with it. Plus it foamed up pretty good which is weird cause when I used it before It didn't seem to foam up as much if not at all I cant really remember. I'll have to do some more before coming to a final conclusion.
Hi Chad, Just sent you a long PM... LOL. I don't have much if any foaming from flex or zone perfect, also powdered detergents usually don't foam or at least very little due to defoamer added to them, CS may foam more depending on the amount mixed but shouldn't be that bad, I usually use flex for the real bad stuff or extreme clean. On the real bad commercial carpets I use a 175 for agitation and that really helps boost production too and loosen the binding and embedded soil easily. OK, get back to me when you can.
I havent been able to get Flex to perform for me either. Traffic slam is working great tho for ground in stains/dirt. I like extreme clean too, add some CS if its oily or real thick with crud. Been a few weeks since I posted the zone perfect review and I've been through a few more jugs of it now. It still works pretty good for normal conditions, but I find it a little fumy if working in poorly ventilated areas like a rec room.
I use to use DSC products years ago and they always performed unbelievable! However they became so expensive and had no distributors in my area, now I see a distributor just 30 mins. away and they will deliver free of charge to me too... they carry all of DSC product ( Deep Steam Chemical Co.) I may go pick up some products for testing to see if its as good or better as it used to be. when I do I'll make a post about it... mean while does anybody use DSC products? that can chime in on their experience with them.
