Guy tells me his carpet is wool/olefin combo. Maybe. did a burn yest. Acts like plastic, smells like hair. Berber....kid pulled off his diaper and #2 on a 10 foot section. Daddy's unamused. Not sure what to do. I'll go have a beer for now.
yes I have a carpet samples I got from carpet sale and installation place. and in the labels says 50%polypropilene and 50 % wool I will treat it like wool
Because it's a mix of wool and olefin I would bet it can take a higher ph cleaner than you would normally use on wool, but I would still use a wool safe product on this carpet since it's likely an expensive one, very expensive. I would prespray with a non-enzyme prespray that is safe for stain resistant carpet and either rinse with an acid rinse or clear water. I would also take care to get it dry quick with air movers. The # 2 may take a little work, but should come out fine unless they are feeding the kid something weird.
Swell. Note to self: If during a conversation someone says: "This is Bob, he invented a carpet with wool/Olefin mix and put it into a berber style carpet." Call lawyer and ask for bail money.
