BRENTWOOD — After soaking in a Super 8 Motel hot tub, an Auburn woman suffered "hot tub folliculitis," caused by "improper cleaning," she alleges in a Rockingham County Superior Court lawsuit. Filed with the court last week, the suit alleges Bridget Hebert, of 39 Manchester Rd., was a guest at a Manchester Super 8 Motel on the evenings of March 16 and 17, 2005, when she contracted the disease. Hebert alleges she required medical attention, incurred medical expenses and suffered injuries, including permanent scarring. Her suit claims Super 8 Motels is required to "exercise reasonable care" in cleaning and disinfecting its hot tubs, "so as to prevent sickness, disease, and infections from spreading." By failing to exercise that care, the New Jersey-based hotel chain caused Hebert to contract folliculitis and a rash. She is asking the court for damages, while Super 8 has a May 6 deadline to file a response. Source: http://www.seacoastonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080313/NEWS/80313015
