I agree with the above two comments. Last year I went the entire winter here in South Dakota with a frozen windshield fluid in the reservoir and trust me it sucked. This year I made sure I had the de-icer kind of fluid in the tank. I had to stop everytime a semi would pass me on the interstate to hand wash my windshield. Ahh..it was bad.

    Thats good advice.
I guess its from being in the Army, but every morning before i start my van, i check all fluid levels and belts and tyres.
It only takes a few minutes but it could save you mega dollars in lost time or damage.

If your washer tank is full, or nearly full of summer fluid, add some alcohol to it so it won't freeze in the cold weather.

If your wipers are streaking, or doing a poor job, replace them. The cost is low compared to the aggravation factor.

I compared the cheap wipers $4 in wal mart versus $15 bucks not too much difference, but with that price i can replace them more often

After I have used the cheap $4.00 blades I decided to upgrade and spend $20 plus on new blades. Well, bad idea. Not worth the extra money at all. I would advise changing to winter wiper blades though. The kind that have the protective sheathing around the actual blade unit. This makes it not freeze to the windshield and pushes the snow a lot easier off the windshield.
