Who has actually restored a former Meth House/ Lab? How did you get the job and how long does it take? Is it even possible to restore a Meth House/ Lab?
Not sure , but when i was a police officer and got a call to a suspected meth lab, i sure know what one looks like when they over cook one in the bathroom and the propane bottles explode, haha huge mess and blood from them not making out in time. The house was demolished and the fire dept. let it burn out.
I did one many years ago in Tennessee. Before we knew all the hazards and before most regulations. Many states have a protocol for how the work should be done. I have copies of the procedure for 3 states. I would think most states would be similar. I am glad to share copies if you email me and ask. I can attach to the reply. scottwbridgewatercorp.net
It depends on what level of of Meth was produced at the location (Tier 1-3). Tearing them down tends to cost more because you still have to declare the waste as hazardous and finding a location to accept it and give you proper documentation to show the state is nearly impossible. We do all the transient housing here in town(state exempt clause) so it is a niche. Meth production is broke down into 4 steps and usually only "smoking off" phase is done indoors because you need a hair dryer and most of the guys that make it don't own a generator. So you have mostly smoke contamination inside the room and the disposal of the bottle's contents down the sink or tub drain. KY has the strongest Clandestine Lab laws in the country.
The problem you will run into is that the meth/chemical will penetrate into the the drywall. Be carefull.
I'm still restoring currently, I'm thinking a soft white for my bedroom but a smoke gray for my lab..
