    If you are asking about a rinse for wool rugs, the mix is close to 50/50%. White vinegar from the store is usually 5% to 6% strength. You want to bring it down to about 3% strength.

    You can get stronger concentrations such as acetic acid or glacial acetic acid and still mix at whatever ratio brings the total down to about 3%.

    Vinegar is not a good choice for rinsing installed carpet and upholstery. Besides the odor and the fact that you would be using a lot of vinegar -even at a few bucks a bottle it gets very expensive - there are no surfactants or anti-corrosives in vinegar. So you loose the ability to rinse out residues. You are just neutralizing them Also the acid can be bad for some for your plumbing.
