I'm thinking about turning the RPM up on this old thing as soon as I get it put back together to make the exhaust heat exchanger work hotter. The reason being is I'm gonna remove the blower exhaust silencer and preheater to give the blower more power, and replace it with 2 universal car mufflers backtoback. What is the rpm on these Legends and how much more can they handle?

    Matt,
I run a legend, I also bumped rpms, I have been running mine at 3200. I don't always run it there but on jobs that I need a little more it is nice to be able to get it.
You will only need 1 muffler, and when you do it you will have to tie into the motor exhaust after the muffler. If you look the motor has a tiny muffler that it goes through when hx diverter kicks in. It is located almost right under the motor.
I will tell you another cool trick that 1KADAY told me here on the forum.
On the front of your machine we have a heat bypass valve that you can turn and open to dump hot water to waste tank. What you can do is take the line that is the manual bypass not the one that goes to hot water sensor, you will need to put cap on the T fitting where you take it off of. Then go to hose shop and have them make you a hose with the right fittings and run it back to your water box tap it into the water box. Then you can just open the valve a tiny bit and it will cycle the hot water back to water box. I put temp guage on water box and so far under normal working conditions the water has only got to about 165 at the most but ATW i am maintaining 200* all day long. I had job the other day 175' away and still had 190* at the wand.
This is way better than the blower HX in fact I think my blower hx is actually cooling the water down as it flows through it. I will be taking mine out again as this mod seems to work awesome.

If you are looking at the front of TM it will be on the right side 4 smaller blue hoses connected the over heat sensore down by Blower Hx exhaust.Just follow line up to the manual bypass valve.

On mine it is the knob down by the vac intake HEAT BYPASS you turn it to open and let the HX cool down.

Oh Ok, you kinda confused me the way you described the the 2 hoses. I know where that is. So, you're saying for me to route the hose that is from the heat bypass to the waste tank and route it to the water suppy box instead of the waste tank?

If that's the case, then I'll have to install a bypass hose right where my supply hose comes out of the machine, so I can open that valve and shoot the hot water out of the machine instead of putting it in the waste tank. correct?

So, do I need to leave the manual bypass open all the time? Will that release the water pressure I need?
