I want to keep track of my engine coolant temp as well, what do you guy think I can use to do that? I'm thinking a thermostat with a temp sensor hole on it but where would I find that for my A12 engine?

Summit racing has a series of universal gauges and holders that can be adapted to most anything, I've never messed with an A12 engine, but I've put the generic sensors on everything from cars and trucks to motorcycles. Coolant is relatively low pressure so a generic in line adapter on the coolant exit side of the engine should do nicely.

if an a12 engine is liquid cooled i have seen radiator caps with a built in thermometer. check NAPA online.
