Ideally, you could use a water softener and /or acid side rinse products. You may never have to descale. The best descaler depends on what factors you value in making it best. Lowest cost - Maybe white vinegar Fast working - Possibly Prochem's but I have never done a head to head test. There are factors like which is safest to use, gentle on the plumbing system and so forth. Safe Clean and Hydromaster make good descalers. The Hydromaster product is safe for techs and for the machine. Scott Warrington
thanks Scott a water softener I would really like to have. not in the budget yet looking for a fresh start to my new/ used machine to start off on the right foot..... I will have to come in Scott and grab something,
We don't use an acid rinse, but why would take up another thread. Judson's O2 Rinse, although neutral @ 7pH does keep the gunk out of your system. I do believe that some guys that had a problem with scale used that for a couple of weeks and solved that problem.
In our area we don't have a hard water problem, but some of the rinses we were using after sitting in the hoses and metal fittings over night at first start up would spit out a black water stream for a second or two. Since using the O2 system we haven't had those symtoms anymore. The strongest descaler acid I ever used was Steamways...
I bought 2 gallons of liquid descaler from Esteam. Im nervous to use them and think I will wait until there is a sign of legitimate need to descale. We use soft water about 80% of the time through the truckmount and according to Mr. Coffey at Prochem, I shouldnt even need to consider a descaling until at least 1000hrs on the machine.
Elwood J is right around our area we dont really have hard water problems. But I did, run descaler through my system just to do it, and wow, it cleaned up my little 1 gallon fresh water tank on my CDS. I used Jondon's Matrix liquid descaler.
