I must agree with rob, it probably has to do with the float assembly. Depending on the type they do wear out over a period of time. spotman
Not familiar with the Peak, however, with past machines that have done that we either adjust the float, or take the valve assembly apart and flush it. Sometimes debris will get caught inside. We make it a habit to turn the water line on to the house before ever hooking up the hose to flush out bugs, leaves etc. But sometimes stuff gets by anyways. Another suggestion would be to place a couple of filters between the water source and the tank if you don't have one already, or a screen filter in the hose. Also we've run across water pressures that just blow right by the valve, get a regulator with quick connects that tone it down.
yes I say its debris in the mechanism. Had this happen not tooo long ago. After cleaning and putting back furniture back in its lace went out to the van to find it litterally over flowing every where..GGGRRRR!!!! Had to cancel the days work and extract water for an hours. Because it was'nt clean water just tap water it started to reek within a few hours. Had to use the porty to clean with my NuCleanse to keep mold from growing and to naturally deoderize everything.
Prochem use to put a rubber nipple in the valve assembly. If the float is adjusted to turn off properly, than the nipple may need to be replaced. Install an inline pressure regulator to help the nipple last much, much longer. Also, when the temps drop, the leaks increase. If you start the machine and get the water warm before turning on the supply, that will help a lot too.
My el diablo did that right away. I duct taped 4 little foam funiture blocks to the float to help it shut off properly. It still is working to this day(4 yrs)
It is debris. Now take a plastic 90 degree nipple hose fitting and drill a hole in your lid and put it in. Run a hose to the outside or to your step. You have now created an overflow safety for your box. Been there, fixed that.
This is way I plume my overflow hose the the floor. They all will fail sometime. Good Luck Neil www.southjerseycarpetcleaning.com
I have a prochem legend and it used to do that a lot. I descaled the machine a bunch of times and it never helped. So I took the valve out of the box, disassembled it and used a Brillo pad to scower the entire thing. I haven't had a problem since.
