When I made in intro post I was talking about my equipment and I think Rob Allen mentioned taking video of what we Steamway Owners mean by "Steamway Heat" being different.

Well, I was doing a job this morning and my customer mentioned yet again, "wow the last guys who were here had the same tool thingy you have but it didn't do that" and that made me remember and thought..."hey my phone has a camera - why not".

They are small, but you get the idea. I have an HD camera and will take some HD quality video in the near future but at least you can get the idea here.

This is literally on the fly daily cleaning, just whipped out the cell phone and took some video. The t-stat was set to only 230 degrees which means it'll occilate between 200ish and 230*. When you crank her up to 250-275 it gets downright nasty. It gets like a steam room - for real.

That's what we mean by "Steamway heat." Enjoy:

That's what an honest, "lie detector coincides with the machine", 215-220 looks like ATW. (Like I said, with the t-stat set to 230 the furnace shuts off at 230 goes down to around 200-210 and fires back up)

It's also why a lot of us who own these machines really scratch our heads when people say they clean at 250* or even 300* with an HX then I see a video and it looks like my machine on 180-190* at best.

The VT is the only HX I know of that can get up to 250*. Even Blueline's latest and greatest HX machines level out about 210-220 IMO.

So most of us with SW machines find ourselves saying "A Steamway 230*" when talking temps.

I'm not saying that to brag or anything, honest. I'm saying it so people are not misled in the their purchase or research in machines.

I'm sure the El Diablo and others with a post heater attain the same or better results...then again, I understand that propane does not burn as hot as oil and you need to use a lot more fuel to make the same heat.

So I hope the vids were helpful to someone. :burnout:

I have a might v and I run 230 all day long with 24 flow I keep my oil temp at 245 when we dual wand I turn the temp down to 215. anything over 230 and the check valves dont keep the dribbles off the carpet.
