ok so i just did my first wool are rug and i notice 2 tiny urine spots that did not come out completely. What can i do? i did not want to mess with any stronger stuff - used as hot water as possible from the sink (no more then 150 temp. for wool right?) used bridgepoints upholstery neutral ph prespray with a bit of citrus solv and boot all, used rotovac and recoil xps, now almost finished drying with a fan. Anything i could try for urine?
    thanks all

Wool is very absorbent. The chemistry of urine can change the color and make some stains permanent. So start by giving your customers low expectations. Urine stains may be permanent. Then if you do get the stain out, you can be the hero.

If you have a mini-plant, wash pit or similar set-up, the solution is often simply letting the rug soak long enough, maybe overnight.

If you are doing surface cleaning rather than immersion cleaning, flush with lots of water and a Water Claw Spot Lifter. YOu can also put your vacuum hose on the back side fo the spot and flush water from the front. Keep flushing as long as you are making any improvement.

One step would be to use TCU Neutralizer on the stains prior to cleaning. Apply. Work in and give 10 to 15 minutes dwell time.

Beyond that, it is a question of do you want the risk that comes with using more aggressive cleaning methods. Is removing the stain better than the possiblity (however small) of damage to the carpet?

Getting even more aggressive, you could use an enzyme product such as Bio-Modifier. Allow plenty of dwell time, maybe several hours for very difficult stains. Enzymes COULD weaken the wool. But this would be minor compared to the damage from urine remaining in the rug.

Oxidizers are even more aggressive. You have Stain MAgic for Wool or you could use StainZONE diluted about 50% with water. The possibility is there to remove color or to cause light colored wool to yellow.
