Hello everyone! I'm having a problem with my truckmount running rich, as in the exhaust its putting out. It's so bad you can barely breathe if you are anywhere near it, it has even got so bad as to turn the inside of the van BLACK! It goes through a tank of fuel in 2 days. (I dont clean that much carpet) The machine is a Blue Wave with a Kubota engine. I've talked with the Kubota dealer here, and they dont want to have anything to do with it because its not a tractor. Any suggestions you guys could send my way would be much appreciated! onthatone

How many hours on the machine and how long has this been going on? If you don't know how to do it yourself I would see if you can get someone who works on small engines to look at it. I would also call Kubota directly about this problem. They may be able to direct you to the right shop for service. http://www.kubotaengine.com/support/service.html A clogged up air filter can also cause the problem you described. The engine will be starved for air and burn a lot of fuel and blow black smoke. If everything else checks out I would look into the fuel pump and make sure the pressure is not too high. Any small engine shop can check your fuel pressure or you can buy a gauge and check it yourself pretty easy. If it's turning the inside of your van black you might want to inspect for exhaust leaks too. If it's still under warranty I would advise taking a day off and make the trip in to whoever sold it to you for warranty service. My machine was running so rich it literally spewed out pure gas sometimes. It turned out to be a clogged exhaust heat exchanger as well as a carburetor problem. The machine had over 2500 hours when that happened though.
