Hi Guys & Girls as i know a lot of women do this work as well.

As you've probably gathered by some of my other posts I'm looking at getting into Trauma & Crime scene cleanups as well as hoarder cleanups.
What is the going rate for this type of work
I've heard a wide range of figures so thought I'd throw the question out there.

    Thanks Steve

We have done a few. I usually just go on gut feeling also taking into account costs. Gross value is a biggy. we did a 2 bedroom home where the lady was living in terribl conditions and was slightly flood affected We're talking dead goat in the front room and a fridge full, and i mean full, of rotting food ..... $4.5K no carpet, full clean inside and pressure wash out and a good antimicrobial fog and deodorise. took 2 guys 2 days... not bad

Private (Regional Council) job. And no the goat lived outside.... 12 cats and 5 dogs lived inside. Dog poop everywhere. Plus the lady had a colostomy bag not nice. included removing all fixed joinery which took about 30 minutes with a sledge hammer. 3 skip bins later.

Crime scene clean up in normally paid for buy the customer not insurance. Price will depend on your area also.
If you have bio-hazard to remove thats high priced and you need a company to get rid of it for you. Then you need gloves glases jump suits boots for your help. Oh masks and you need some certifications in some states so look into that. I hope this helps.

    Thanks Nick,
I understand that it is quite hard to put a price on it but i was inquiring what you guys thought. I've been given a wide verity of prices from $100 to $600per hour and jobs from $1000 to skies the limit.

As i said i'm interested to see what peoples thoughts were.

PPE gear is a must as you mentioned. and It is all under control with my suppliers. sharps containers, Bio-hazard bags, Transport containers etc.

as for certification I've sorted that out. Disposal is not a problem there are a couple within an hour of here. and that will all get charged to the customers anyway.

any other info or advise out there I'm all ears

    Thanks Steve

Not sure how big these rooms were, but the fact that it was a flood (not taking into consideration the bio-hazard protocols) IICRC standards and Xactimate pricing should have gotten you more that 4.5k. Seems like a lot of money was left on the table, in my opinion.

I've done a few, I have a $200 minimum for any trauma cleanup, but for me it's usually just a big blood spill, not a whole apartment.
Even with that said, I still want to be paid well for the mental stress these types of cleanups can do to you, as well as the knowledge
in how to deal with blood and pathogens.
When it's a large area or a big cleanup it would usually go through insurance and they call restoration companies in.
