To the "Newbies" from a "Newbie"/2k Portable....

    I'm a "newbie", my budget is 2000.00, my requirements in a machine are:

    1. auto-fill/auto-drain-
    2. dual 3-stage vacuums- (i live in a very high humidity area, will be using the 360I and want to run 50' of hose and line)
    3. reliability of course-
    4. heat-
    5. decent solution tank capacity size for when there is no access to taps- (11 gallons and up)
    6. modern design/look-
    7. strong warranty-
    8. circuit locator/indicator-

    I found all of this, except for the heat, in the Mytee M5 for only 1975.00 at discount cleaning supplies....includes shipping cost. I will use an externel bucket heater when need-be....120-degrees from the tap, the 360I, some good pre-treating procedures and i should be o.k.

    When the budget permits, I will get the '240-120 Mytee Hot Turbo'! It is an external heating source that you can hook-up up to any cold water extractor. You can draw anywhere from 5-amps-up-to-20-amps....it has 4 switches for you to decide how many watts you want to draw, either 600-w, 1200-w, 1800-w or 2400-w....which of course would be determined by how hot you need the water to be....210-degrees is the max temp. (With a conventional wand and/or upholstery tool!)

    This will help decrease the total load that you are putting on the home!

    What is GREAT about having the M5 (without heat) in conjunction with this unit is that; should it ever break, you still have your Portable to work with, vs. one with the internal heater, Also, you keep your dual 3-stage vacuum capabilities (230-CFM/144" WL) The price from Mytee is 479.00....I will do some shopping on this and let you know what lower prices I may find.

    UPDATE: The classified section on here has a couple of external heaters for sale, should you go the route of having no internal heat....

    I'm getting one for when I'm not using the 360I, i.e. the conventional wand, stair tool and upholstery tool.

    PLEASE NOTE: AS A RESULT OF A RECENT POST, I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT IN NO WAY AM I TELLING YOU THAT YOU SHOULD/MUST PURCHASE AN M5, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION....WHAT I FOUND THAT WORKS FOR ME. ALSO, as the title states...."from a newbie"....that is what i am, i DO NOT "KNOW IT ALL", NEVER SAID I DID, but do have some knowledge after lots of research before joining this great forum and after joining, and as mentioned above...."some knowledge i gained from Deron06, who happens to be VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE"!

    Sabr, keep in mind that no electric heater is going to keep up with an RV360i. It will be useful when using a wand or doing upholstery but not with the RV360. The M5 is a milestone in portables and is destined to be a classic because of the potential it has. It's the Hyabusa of portables! LOL!

    "Newbies"....I STAND CORRECTED....Deron06 is absolutely CORRECT about the RV360I and the electric heater....the RV360I HAS A MUCH HIGHER WATER DISTRIBUTION....MORE JETS....MORE PASSES!!!!

    Have you done a ride a long yet longer then a few days?

    I volunteered with a guy every Sat morning for a year, waking up at 4:30 AM. This was in college when most of my friends were just done drinking. This was only scratching the surface of knowledge to run and operate a carpet cleaning company.

    Also, my insurance budget alone was 3K the first year.

    O.h, yes....i did.... and will do more in F.L.; getting Portable experience, as well as more ride-a-longs with my friend in G.A.

    No 4:30a.m. wake-ups though, more like 5:30a.m.

    jaymark1....in the beggining, i'll be Blessed if i have more than 5 homes to do a week, im sure that i'll be o.k. and "scratch the surface" just fine as i go along....

    i may be new at "owning" my own cc business, but, also 42 with a lot of business experience and a very smart wife to keep the books.

    if you are insinuating that ALL should volunteer or do this for a year solid 20 hours a day before diving into doing it themselves....i disagree....

    our country was built on taking chances, i'm not scared, have an impeccable work ethic and i will succeed!

    I would go as far as to say that this new fireball has scared the lights out of many members here. This level of exuberance is frightening to many but lets not judge him as though he is a foolish 16 year old who thinks he is going to strike it rich the first year. He has business experience and plenty of it. He's also a bright guy. Like I said, winners will win. God forbid he builds his M5 into the monster that mine is. We can't have more of these air jacking monstrosities spreading all over the country.

    I am doing my best to fluff up the pup and send him out there in the cruel world. I would like to see some others do the same for him and stop ridiculing his ideas.

    He is no fool and even knows a few marketing tricks that some of us can learn.

    I got dissed all day Friday when prospecting....totally rejected by all the Restaurants I visited....they say that they are "perfectly happy with their current carpet cleaner"....
