I have lived in Montreal, Ottawa and now Toronto all 3 of these cities get some nasty winter driving conditions. years ago my brother introduced me to a real snow tire called "Nokian Hakkapeliitta" (1) They aint cheap (2) they can last you 5 winters (3) there really is nothing like them. (4) they're used in ice racing :)

We like B F Goodrich for my trucks.. They seem to last longer and wear good for us. I do buy the better ones they sell.

We run Michelin LTX MS all year round. They are something like $250.00 per tire but they are they best and I have never looked back. I have them on my Explorer too.
