I would have to say out of many bad ones the one that made the top ten was last year .We got a call around 900pm Dec.27th for a sewer back up into condo basement. The condo manager called saying there is about a foot of sewer water. He had called a company to snake the main line ,but they may take couple hours to get there . I told him to ask the resident not to use any water and knock on doors to ask others to do the same till the line is clear. We arrived only to see water with content flowing like a water fall out of the toilet.. I started to pump the sewer water into another open sewer line thru man hole. Then called the manager back to say everyone in the building is still using water and flushing thier toilets. I told him to shut the water off to the building. They are not understanding what don't use the water means! He never found the shut off and the company took almost 3 hours to get there and then clear the main line. After pumped all the standing sewer water there was over 2 inchs of human waste from the toilet in the basement to the whole room..Look like there was a mud side of human waste. Thick and nasty!

I had a woman ring to have her lounge room cleaned urgently. When asked about the urgency, she informed our operator that her horse had given birth. Yep she bought the horse inside to give birth. She did insist it was the right thing to do because it was a champion horse.
    I passed on that job.

A: 6" of solid raw sewage in a basement... shoveled it out. $250 an hour..
B: 12" + of raw sewage in a basement, septic tank was full, everytime commode flushed upstairs, it ran out of the basement commode.. Idiots(12 of them but house was rented to only 3) were so drugged out of there minds, they just kept living there for over 6 weeks until the owner comes in one day and runs them off, quite literally... We washed out the crap, tore all the partition walls out down to block basement walls, pressure washed, cloroxed...
C: 6 dogs and 5 cats in a house: all the carpet in the house was wet with urine and you could see where crap had been everywhere...should have been torn out but was a rental house and it "had to be cleaned" I cleaned it will conditions stated before the job started...
4: A chimney on a kerosene heater is not put back on properly... smoked for 10 hours before the owner knew... oily black soot on everything in this 2000sq. house... much harder than the normal restoration...
Need I go on... This is the mountains of East Tn. and there is more...Richard

Trailer, owned by a depressed alcoholic. Waist deep in trash and animal feces from one end of the trailer to the other. After six hours of garbage removal I finally was able to get to the carpet, where I chipped off 3" deep in racoon and cat feces with a crowbar before I was able to clean the carpet.
Piles of used cat litter were 4 feet high in every corner, and Empty plastic cat litter bags were everywhere under, around and on top of all the furniture, they were all filled with urine that was months old. Dead kittens fell into the furnace vents some weeks earlier just to add to the aroma. Wild cats and racoons came and went as they pleased.

It was my wife's first job on the road with me after quitting her job and joining my company full time. She almost puked twice.

No, they were not keeping the carpet, it was to make the trailer in a condition that other companies would enter it to remove carpet and install laminate.

It was our first year in business, we used surgical masks and rubber gloves as protection. We spent 10 hours non stop and made that trailer clean and reasonably sanitary, except for urine in the underpad. We charged $600

    Swell.

I had some dirty carpets with chewing gum yesterday. I recall thinking at the time: "How does anyone live like this?"

I am gonna go have some breakfast now. Oat meal. with raisins. But I will be thinking about rocky poo, placenta and sewage.

Might have my own 'clean-up scene' right after that.

I had a job that would have just been a gross filth job all by itself except the customer had a sewer line break in the basement. The 1000 square foot basement was floor to ceiling and packed with everything you could ever imagine. It took just over a day with 3 or 4 people dragging things out just so I could get to the windows and open it up for ventilation. I couldn't even take pictures it was so packed. The sewer was almost 3 feet deep in parts and it sat there while this guy had companies come and do bids. Most companies left at first sight or smell (i forget). Anyway it took us about 4 days to remove everything down to the concrete and studs. We charged about $26,000 to remove the contents plus we had him pay for the roll off dumpsters....i think there was about 14 in all. I can't believe we did this job as it was my worst ever (at the time) and we did another one just as bad a few weeks later. We beat the only other company to bid (Rainbow Int'l) by about $15k. Here is the link to the pics (there are about 30 or so) that i uploaded. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/ind...viewPicture&friendID=472239267&albumId=615141

A 20 foot travel trailer that a man almost died in, but smelled like he did. He was taken to the VA hospitial and the trailer was put in storage. 2 months later I get a call from his sister in NY to clean it. 6 garbage bags of trash. Food in the freezer and refrig. never cleaned out.Found a jar of ashes from his cat. Everything went in the trash even my clothes I was wearing. Yes my under wear too.3 hours $ 500.00. When his sister complained about the bill I asked her if she would like to see the pictures I took of the job. She said no I will just pay you and she wrote me a very nice thank you note too.

I hope you meant the truck mount plumbing and not your "internal plumbing."
