    The Hoss 700....

this machine blows the RX and the 360i out of the water..

you can use it on just about everything out there from CGD to thick carpet with no problems...

This machine is designed so you can balance it to your equipment and get the maximum performance allowed..

you get a good flush and penetration at the same time.....the larger head allows you to cover more area with just a 1/3 over lap....

you can move it faster then the RX on all types of carpet..except the thicker type then you want to go about the speed of an RX..

when balanced with your equipment it will give you the best recovery....

low profile goes under the edges of beds and toe kicks....so you have less cutting in with the wand....

with the correct orifice to balance with your machine...it will help hold your heat more efficiently....

LMAO! Didn't we already establish that you are no expert on rotary machines? Who told you that you could get off the bench and make a mad dash for right field?

First of all, the WarHoss does not reach under furniture well at all. The RDM takes that distinction. While the Hoss is effective on residential and commercial, it tugs too hard on older, loose residential carpet and can rip seams in a split second or even pull carpet away from j-bar. I agree that you get a good flush as long as your machine has long nozzles but nothing outflushes the RDM on residential. Of course, the RDM is only useful on residential. You can move the Hoss faster than an RX, assuming you don't care if you are doing a good job or not. A 5 jet RX20 covers more area than your 2 job demo unit so it will clean faster. It's simple math, 5 vs. 2. If Sapphire ever realizes that we want all 5 full width nozzles, it might just clean as fast or faster than an RX. For now, your statement is false.

I would rate the Hoss higher than the RV360i because it seems to be more durable and I prefer the Hoss when using a truckmount. However, I would rate the RV360i higher for use with a portable. This time less is more (3 vac heads vs. 5) and the RV360i is far less risky in relation to damaging carpet. The WarHoss is a very good rotary (only when it has the full width nozzles - the standard one with all staggered jets is dreadful) but saying that it blows everything else out of the water is pure nonsense.

Now please write about something you know about, such as taking handouts from manufacturers in exchange for raving reviews.

the demo that I am using has 2 long and 3 short....the number of jets are not what is important...it is the set up and how they work...with the set up on the 700 you get the best of both worlds....more is not always better...balance is the key...and always has been...no matter what you use...

Sorry Jim it is hard to take the word from a guy who is a moderator on a forum that the rotary unit you propose is so great pays for its yearly fests. On top if that they send out a free machine for you to demo. Your opinion cannot be trusted a 100%.

Now I have never tried the unit and it may very well be a good unit but I have the 360i on all my trucks. Why? Because it is light weight and versatile. It can prescrub with brush head, clean with a variety of heads and I can encap or do tile. Now is it the best cleaning unit out there? Maybe, maybe not but it is close and certainly a mile better than a wand. So since all rotaries clean just about the same I will opt with the light weight versatile units.

Being on another board has noting to do with anything..but I can understand where you are coming from...the machine and the wand are only a demo and after I am done they both get sent back and then I will be buying my own...

I think RV is starting to see the problem that some are having with the machine...they have sent me out some shims to raise it so it does not hit the carpet and block the jets..they have also made a 4 jet..4 vacuum port head to also try to correct this problem...

People should wait until all of the R&D done FREE by cleaners is done before purchasing a FLAWED expensive product.

Jim, are they sending you a motor with a cover or shroud to keep errant water out of the windings? It's odd that they sent you a defective machine given your relationship with SS. I have enjoyed your reviews of this new machine however if you over state it's abilities Alex will send you to the showers. Lol.

Ha! That was a good one Mr Ed!

And Jim I am well aware of the head and fittings. I am actually making a mod to it myself that corrects what you consider a weakness. However even with the stick set up it is only a minute difference in cleaning quality between other rotaries. So instead of splitting hairs over which cleans best I will go with versatility and great cleaning combo anyday. The customer still gets a great job and I make a heck of a lot more money.

I like my 360i. I like my Powerwand. I like RX-20. Haven't used the HOSS. I really don't think it matters, just use what's best for you. I do think the HOSS looks the coolest.

We have all the toys except for the "Hoss" We love our 360i's because as Rob implied the versatility is great. The 360 is much lighter and easier for the guys to handle. If we really want to get down to business then we would yank out our Prochem Powerglide which the idiots discontinued years ago. Hooked up to a 6008 blower the Powerglide is unsurpassed, just very heavy and not for every job.

Yes we sell all kinds things but that's not the point I made. I didn't say it was a bad or good unit just saying Jims review could be clouded by his Moderating, paying advertisers, close alliances and them buying out his truck mount therefore providing parts along with a close enough friendship to be shipped a free unit to demo. I respect Jim but he is "inside the picture". I am "outside the picture".

Your assumption is correct. And to help any others here is another one. Pulled the Rotovac out twice today.

I have cleaned with the RV360I/RX20/DRIMASTER/HOSS and the old style RX20. I find the RV360I the easiest to use and the most economical for a owner operator in terms of cost. I got my RV360I for 1200$ and I can get a RX20 for under a grand, I can't get a HOSS anywhere even used for less than 2000$. I think that with time that may change but for now the cleaning difference between the rotaries is not enough to justify another purchase.

I have yet to see the RX20/RV360I be outcleaned by another rotary. At full flow and with 4 to the door hooked up the RV360I it makes a pretty potent combo.

But whatever floats everyones boat, we are all quality cleaners here and any rotary that is field proven that you use makes you a winner in my books.

The RV360i does a phenomenal cleaning; having good water penetration and absolutely terrific water recovery. It was a trailblazer in several key areas, 2 of which the WarHoss foolishly ignored; the perfectly clear sight tube and variable speed control. I understand that when it was first released with staggered jets, there wouldn't be any reason to slow down the already dysfunctional cleaning head on the Hoss because it would have only made a bad situation worse. Now that Sapphire is realizing (with baby steps) that we need full width nozzles on the machine, they might want to consider adding a variable speed control in future generations. 5 full width heads, a narrower hose connector location, a sight tube, variable speed control and easily removed or attached teflon glides will further refine this machine to near perfection. Until this occurs, it is merely a very good machine that could be better and is no better than the other rotaries on the market and arguably worse.

I have not experienced any problems with the Rotovac 360i's cleaning ability. My only complaints have been directed toward durability. My motor is stalling, my valve leaked, it is shooting water out of the center bolt in the hub, the rubber gasket in the hub did not last long and this was all within the first year of ownership. By contrast, I have never experienced any problem of any kind with an RX20 during the first 10 years of ownership.

The funny thing is, I could perfect any one of these rotaries with a few design changes but the manufacturers don't seem to know how or don't care. In all fairness, the WarHoss is a new contender so lets see how much development it receives from this point forward. They are fixing their Stryker wand so maybe there is some hope that they will also improve the Hoss.

MrE. is correct, Mr. Martin. If you come on this forum, yapping some obvious "sell out" rhetoric, you will take a bath. The fact that you are not an expert on rotaries (and I explained why in the other thread), limits you to superficial importance on this subject, so keep it on the "down low".......unless of course, you want to take a bath. Since I was not banned last time for the hosing that I bestowed upon you, I don't see what harm another cleansing will do.

I suspect it will be better when used with a powerhouse truckmount like Rob has. His TM has the needed vac power when adding an additional cleaning head and the machine will perform more cleaning passes. I hope Rotovac releases it for production.

How do you like it so far, Rob?

they may be on the right track but they still need to raise it so it does not streak on the thicker pile carpets....It is a good machine...but it just does not work well on everything out there......Personally for me it was a waste of 2K...but that does not mean that it will for everyone...
