So I ran into a unique situation last week. A client wanted me to clean her area rugs. All 18 of them, located in 2 different houses, in different room locations. I found my self relying on her memory to relocate them when I returned. Needless to say it was difficult. Is there a way to tag the underside of the rug with a sticker? Preferably something that would stay permanently, that lets the customer know when and where they had their last cleaning. Kinda like you get when you receive an oil change.

If you remind me I will make a TMF tip of the week next week showing how we do it and where to get the items. But please remind me next Tuesday or so!

You can get a thin wire that inserts through a rug and ties onto a tag. Write information on tag.

We order Tyvek tags from McMaster-Carr - and use sharpie pens for writing (it won't bleed when wet). These are best, won't tear. We use plastic pricing gun to attach them - super easy. Use thick plastic so you can tug and easily break it off. These guns are sold everywhere, like Staples, just buy extra needles because they tend to break. We order ours from Quill office supply.

We also apply a Tyvek sticker to the back of the rug with date of last wash/repair and phone number, these are made by our printing company, and they apply once, so not lots of adhesive residue - we tear it off next time in, and replace it with a new one.

I do what lisa does - works great. If you have a job with lots of rugs take pics in each room to see where they go. I learned that one the hard way!
