Ok, So I will start this, we have everyhing written out in our policy and procedures to get a tech up and running his own truck in 2 months flat.It starts with proper training from day one as well as accountability. We have 5 steps they must go thru after their 90 day conditional offer of employment. Our bonus systems are very easy to understand and are very atainable if the effort is there as well as the sales and attendance. We make it a policy that everyone (there are 3 of us LOL) has to do their part or NO One gets a bonus. We make sure teamwork is a VITAL part of our growth as we area very small company. I feel you should know your worth and we find a way to reward that every time possible!!

    Mr Lyon,

Sounds like your company has about the same amount of employees as we are running as well. Some differences in systems.

So what do you do with your new employee that you are all excited and putting investment and training into when he/she calls in on their first week to take the day off because <insert perfectly legitimate reason here>

Then you let that one slide and a few weeks later it happens again. And it happened because <insert perfectly legitimate reason here>

    What is your system?

just to bring it back on topic:

We call customers the night before to remind them we are coming.

We set up the truckmount the night before

We keep the Tim Horton Card loaded at all times.

I love Tim Horton (Native Of NY), that's why I call it a conditional offer of employment, if they are out for more than 3 times in the first 90 days, minus a doctors note, well I don't think I have to go any further. The same goes for being Late, 3x and your out. It may sound like tuff love but it is all up front and my guys know I will go above and beyond, but it is a 2 way street.

Ps, I agree with stocking up the night before, our mournings can get intristing LOL!!
    Thanks for the feedback Bud!!

I'd like to hear more guys. I just hired 2 guys but I am a bit clueless on what systems to implement to make our team a success instead of me just paying them for odd job crap. Can anyone send me our share their actual manuals or something that might help me get a grasp on everything?
