    Jon:

If a manufacturer can't answer a simple question regarding vacuum performance or recovery capacity, it would really cause me to wonder if they know what they're doing.

Maybe you misunderstood them. But if that really is their answer, I'd look elsewhere.

I personally do not like the lift too high. Everyone has there own preferences though. That is why whatever TM you want, make sure you demo it. And make sure you demo it with the same amount of hose you think your gonna be using. Demoing with one hose is not practicle.

Befor you buy ask for local refrances near you where you can look at one run one and see if thier are any problems. Remenber they are not around the corner if you have a problem. I would look to buy your first unit from someone that is closer to you and is willing to hold your hand during the beginning.
    Good Luck

A lot of good points here! This forum is a wealth of information and is quite heplful to any carpet cleaner !

I feel that Duane Oxley made a valid point for sure! To not even know such simple specifications about something you manufacture or sell does not bode well for the potential buyer.

Possibly it is more important about how simple the truckmount is made as well as how easy it is to maintain. Of course performance is critical here also. Reputation means a lot. Most truckmounts today even entry level will provide good vacuum. Typically a larger #3 such as a Roots 36 or Sutorbilt 3LP and a Tuthill 3006 have a good deal of vacuum especailly on the cfm side which helps in the real operating lift.

The main problem entry level truckmounts have is on the heat side. So if you plan on buying a heat exchanger unit find out what the heat potential really is.
I would want a demonstration if possible especially when you are spending this much on a piece of equipment.
