What is the fastest you have ever driven your car?
I had my dads Acura Legend going 120 back in H.S. Looking back it seems pretty stupid. :AddEmoticons04259:

Race car......1 mile oval 165-170 and its constant for 100+miles in the draft.
Now thats a rush. I didn't have a license until I was 18 because of drag racing on the streets, so I keep my thrills within closed walls and alot of safety equip. around me.

I'm impressed by Kevins 1.8 going 142. Something cool about that variable valve timing Kevin. So far you guys are crazy but I think Jason is the craziest! LOL

God you guys think the cop wasn't going to read this thread LOL. Jason I may have to taze you.

    Ok so my turn
136 in my Dodge Charger Police Edition (This was truly a high speed pursuit looking back I should have terminated it but I wanted to go fast)

130 in my Acura TL S-type (Don't tell my chief)

100 in my Dodge 3500 (Back when we were a 4 man police dept and at some points we wouldn't have anyone on duty, dispatcher called me and asked me if I could get to my town in under 30 minutes because there was a shots fired call and the deputies were 30 minutes out. Lets just say we've made some changes since then)

Mark, I love hearing the combustion on those old TransAm engines. They make a real specific sound. I can usually call that engine without looking.

My first car was a 1970 Ford LTD with a 400V8 under the hood. Im not sure how fast because the speedometer goes up to 120mph and the needle was buried long ago and was still able to accelerate. I had to slow it down because the body was starting to float and I was getting a little concerned lol.

That was a long time ago of course :) Im much saner now... really..

145 back in 1978, when I was installing car stereo as a sideline in college. Outside of Carrollton, where I lived, there was (probably still is) as straight stretch of road about a mile long, so I felt okay pushing it to see what it could do.

It was a Mercedes 450 SLC (I'm pretty sure it was a 450.. maybe 400), and at 145, it showed no signs of strain or wanting to slow down.

The speedometer went to 160, and I honestly believe it would easily bury the needle.

I got scared and backed off...

The fastest car I ever drove was my friends Subaru WRX STI and I had it going right about 155 mph. I ran out of straight road or I would have went faster.
The fastest motorcycle I drove was another friends Katana 600 and I had it going 145 mph and I slowed down cause my head started shaking, I'll never do that again.
My CRX is somewhat heavily modified and I can easily get it going 120 mph. The gearing would probably let it do 145mph but the Japanese computer shuts it down. This car handles awesome and is so much fun to drive. I love speed.
I actually have been pulled over by police on 2 different occasions one time doing over 105 mph, the other 120mph and for some reason or another they gave me a warning. Go figure. When I was younger, One also tried to pull me over on a back road but I dusted him.
Now that I have a son I no longer drive like that anymore.

My impala cop car had a governor ... 115 on radar it would shutter and then drop 113 for about 20 seconds .. then 114 ... then 115 shutter shake and drop to 113 ... repeat as long as the road was straight.

Crown vic (on a down hill) we touched 127 flash 126 flash 127 i guess the radar was trying to tell us 126 and one half.

Now on my ninja zx-6 speedo said 148 but cop radar said 126 ... motorcycle speedos are not very accurate .. they make toys that allow you to adjust it for accuracy ..... which i didn't have ...

The only time we weren't friggin' around playing tag when we were doing mid-night switch cop cars from mechanics to the station a deer ran in to the other cops drivers window. Broken glass everywhere ...... Thank god we weren't going fast that time.

I've slowed way down since those days.
