What would a company charge to take up approx. 1000sf of 8 by 10 inch non-friable asbestos tile squares (98% of the floor is in non friable condition). The company would potentially have the owner and one employee working. I want to make sure the homeowner is not being taken here. The job is going to take three days and the homeowner will be gone. Thanks,

8X10? Never heard of one. Asbestos tiles were generally 9X9.

Sorry, they are actually the 9x9. I just came from the house and they are 9x9's.

3 days, 2 people to remove 1000sf of tile.
That's like 1 1/4 tiles removed per minute.
The last 3 tile removal jobs I have done the tiles popped up as quick as I could put a scrapper under them. Maybe I just lucked out on the type of adhesive that was used.

Couldn't pay me enough to do that job. I hope everyone knows what their getting into. The regular white 3m masks do nothing. We did a job about 12 years ago. Had no idea what it was. It haunts me to this day. I hate the fact that I went on that job. And the irony of it is I was going to jump out of the van before we left because one of the employees was getting on my nerves. Wish I did jump out.

I dunno, I would probably charge $100 an hour, and customer pays for disposal. It's probably gonna be paid for by insurance, so I would be fair, but I definitely wouldn't short myself.

This company came back to asking for $1.50 per sq. ft of tile that is taken out plus labor and the labor is $65.00 per hour. Thanks,

    Anthony
