Who runs their TM this way? Do any of you guys bypass the temp control purposely? My thermostat went out today and the heat was maxed out. I left the wand down about 30 seconds and the TM's temp control shut down the machine. It was late and I needed to finish the job so I disconnected the temperature control and ran the machine for another 5-10 minutes. Water was nice and hot. Is it okay to run the machine this way? I have a panther 15 (Chemtex).

As long as you fire it up and start using water immediately you will be ok to finish the job and then get it fixed.

I agree, you cannot let it sit for more than a couple mins, also will be a problem doing upholstery. Get an open ball valve so you can discharge water when it gets too hot.
