    I usually use freezer sprays to get rid of chewing gum from carpets...But it is not that easy and takes a long time. Is there any other method that is easier and most importantly also works?

    I think the fastest and easy way to do it is using a steam gun. It is a dry steam cleaner that you fill with some water and when it is heated you can pull the gum from the carpet. Freezeer sprays trap the fibres which may be removed along the gum, but this steam gun doesn't.

    In addition to what mastercleaner said, when you have removed the gum you it's good use some solvent, for example citrus gel to clean the remaining residue as there usually some residue. This way you can clean the carpet completely.

    Steam can damage certain types of carpets like twist pile. Before anything unwanted happens, make sure the carpet got no rubber at its back. Steam can burn the carpet leaving a bald spot on it! It happened to me once and I had to replace the customer's carpet :(

    If your machine gets hot enough just steam it out. Get the gum hot, scrape excess off with a bone scraper, and steam the rest out. I never spend more that about 20 seconds on any piece of gum.

    Citrus solvent, bone scraper, and a tm/porty will do the trick just fine.

    aguerro;

    I would use a stronger solvent than the citrus-types for faster softening.

    Spray the gum, agitate with gum-getter and extract with high heat.

    A little citrusolv directly on the gum and let it work for about 5 minutes. Extract with high heat and its gone. Its usually a wrap in about 2 passes with the wand.

    Indeed. You don't want to use a solvent that will fall to the backing and cause delamination. I use Hel-Gel from Vacaway. It's an orange solvent in a foamy gel that stays on the surface, on the gum. After a couple minutes just scratch it off with a gumgetter.
    I had a job once that had dozens of gum spots in every room. A house, for crissakes. Whatr a pig stye. After a while one of the kids there started bugging me to do the gum removal I was doing. So I handed him the Hel-Gel and the gumgetter and he went to town and removed all the rest of them for the next 45 minutes.haha

    yeah if your machine produces enough heat you should be able to blast it out. if not citrus gel helps.

    cheers

    Try Citrus Solv or other solvent spotter. Let it sit till you extract.

    Just to elaborate; after solv sits use a spoon to scrape the majority of the gum off; reapply solv then extract thoroughly with high heat.

    I've used Goo Gone mainly for years for chewing gum and never a problem. I found the freezer spray method to get very expensive sometimes. In a place that has a lot of gum you can go through a can pretty quick, but just a little citrus solvent will do the job. If the gum is just on the surface and not mashed into the carpet you can just put some on a towel and work it around the gum and it will pull right up. If it is smashed in and there is a lot of it I poke holes in it before putting some solvent on it. I don't always use the gel spotter either and have never had a problem . I just make sure to rinse the area thoroughly afterwards and try only to apply just enough to loosen the gum. A bone scraper, spoon, or any blunt instrument should knock it right out.
