I'm hoping to get to take a repair IICRC course in 2012. Who are some of the better instructors? I know Steve Andrews is on the board, and I've learned a lot from him. I also have Barry Costa's video package, so I know he's good. Who else is good?

I took Barry Costas Class. I dont know any of the other teachers but I can tell you he knows carpet intallation/AND HOW TO TEACH SO YOU UNDERSTAND IT. to me one of the hardest things in restreching a room is the system/patern to stretch in. He has a great way to teach it so you remember and understand it. LOTS OF HANDS ON TIME!!!!! Interesting story! Barry use to own a company in my area. a couple years after my class I was in a house doing a repair where he is from and the husband and wife sat on the couch and watched me do it. I heard the husband say to the wife Is that how Barry would do it? He said he didnt know. I turned to him and asked if He was talking about Barry Costa. Come to find out they new him and his family. The husband was on the Fire dept with Barry. I believe he told me Barry installed the carpet I was repaiing.(Repair was from Iron burns not improper installation)
Sorry for the long story! Just had to tell some one. I thought that was so cool.
    Hope it helps

I don't know Steve Andrews except from some of his posts here, but I will tell you that Barry Costa is a TEACHER! As it has been stated by others here, he not only is a master at what he does but he teaches it in a way that helps you learn the material, not just pass the test! Not to mention that his classes are fun! The most fun I've had in all my training have been the two classes I took under Barry's teaching (Water Damage Restoration and Carpet Repair & Re-installation)! If his classes are hard to get into, he's worth waiting for...

I agree with all above. Barry's 3 day RRT was my pleasure to take, and I recommend it highly!

Picking between Barry and Steve is like picking between Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers. The key thing is to take the class. Don't wait too long as there are not that many.

Barry Costa is a great teacher I will only send my guys to him for any iicrc (clean trust) class's for water damage. He teaches in a way that most of us can relate too. I wish his asd complex in az would open soon it has been a long wait and is it does not open soon I will be forced to take elsewhere.
