Real rug washers, do you have a minimum charge to wash a rug?

    If a customer calls for you to pickup, wash and return a small rug (2x3, 3x5, etc) what do you charge?

    One of my competitors surface cleans area rugs for $1.00 a sf with a 10% discount if you bring it to him. He will do a 3 x 5 for $15.00 picked up and delivered. I don't expect him to last much longer even though he has been here for years. He obviously doesn't know his cost of doing business. A potential client told me this and I didn't believe it until I called anonymously and sure enough, that's what he said.
