A property manager I work with asked me to attempt to remove a stain between now and Monday. If I can't get it out they are replacing carpet so I need not bother cleaning the rest.

The lighting wasn't the greatest but the carpet is a bluish-gray. There are a few purple or dark blue stains. The biggest one is the size of a basket ball.

While in a dimly lit room, looking at all of these shades of purple/blue, it sort of looks like the center might be red.

If Red 1 isn't working, are there any other suggestions?

    Thanks for any help.

I will try treating it as ink. These are the steps that they listed on CTI's website:

    FOR CARPET:

Step 1. Apply Pro Solve to ink deposit.
Step 2. Agitate gently but thoroughly until deposit is dissolved.
Step 3. Apply Power Gel to deposit and agitate.
Step 4. Thoroughly hot water extraction rinse.

Tip: If stain remains apply Stain Magic, cover with damp towel and steam heat for 15 seconds.

Is this the way you'd handle it?

    Thank you.

I would apply stain magic first on and around the stain. This will fill the fibers so the ink will not spread if it is ink. Next apply any type of ink remover and extract.

Are you setting your iron on its lowest setting. If not you will set the stain.

I have found that the best thing to do is:
Use only the smallest stain to test on.
Wet a small area of clean cotton cloth with ink remover
blot area very gently, you will be able to tell if there is ink
on the towel if it will come out.
There are so many different:argue: inks on the market that a lot of
times removing 100% of the spot is impossible...RR

There is also the option of doing a repair. Cut out a section and cut in a matching section. If the property manager will replace it anyway it would be worth a shot and save him quite a few bucks and become a hero.
