Use a giant pry bar to rock the blower. But be very very careful not to damage housing.

I hope Ara was kidding about the giant pry bar!

Do NOT force the blower with the prybar! You will break it.

There are 2 extra bolts the manual doesnt mention that need to be loosened. That is why everyone has so much problem moving the blower. They are located underneath the blower, reach your hand under there and feel around, you will find them.

I wasn't kidding about the pry bar. There are points on the blower that can be used with a pry bar like pry points on an engine. This was taught to me by other professionals in the blower industry.

If I was to move the blower I would have used a pry bar myself... I know about the adjustment bolts, but really just slipping them on is the best route. The way you can make the belts last longer on the Peak is go to the 2.5, and wrapping your exhaust, since it's only an inch or so from the belts.

I found an interesting service bulletin on tightening blower drive belts. If I had a scanner I would love to share this with all of you.

The mech. in town told me they should be a tad looser then a fiddle string???haha Thats why I do things myself. I would say the slack should be no more then 3/4 of an inch. With the boards I really don't see why you would need a mechanic, if you are somewhat handy you should be able to do anything to your TM as far as maintaining it.

Its all good, but I just changed my belts, and didnt have to pry anything, its all about finding all the bolts, including the ones that are not mentioned in the manual, then the blower just slides back and forth easily with the adjustment bolts.

How often do you need to replace the belts, and is this something I should keep as a spare on the truck.

You can kind of tell when they are about to go, you will smell the rubber burning, and you will notice your TM doesn't sound right. I won't replace my belts till they get chewed to chit and spit all over the inside of my van just because there isn't much warning with my TM.

As far as having spare belts with you absolutly! I have two belts and a brand new pipe wrench in my van inside 3 plastic bags, haven't had to change them since august 08 and have been doing quite a few water extrations... Hope I fixed my problem.

Missed this one.. 2.5 vac. hose will take alot of stress off your belts and you will gain ALOT of vacuum. Wrapping the exhust, I'll have to get back to you on that one I really don't know how my exhaust is going to hold up by being wrapped.

What I did was had my exhaust ceramic coated then I wrapped it with exhaust wrap.

Have you burned any belts yet?

I think they use exhust wrap to heat insulate the exhusts to get more efficacy out of your heat exchange and to stop you burning your self as much if you touch it by accident
I would put a couple of wraps of tin foil around it first before putting the exhust wrap on
Aluminum Duck tape is another good one

No I havent burned any belts yet. It is my 2nd week in business. But I have already put on 24 hrs on the machine. Its a great machine. Only question I have is when doing de-flooding, how do you keep this bad boy from getting hot. I did one today and it was reading 230 at the truckmount. Is this a concern or is this the way these machines work.
