Hey guys I have a Prochem Ledgend TM with a problem with the waste tank filling up way to fast. I use a fresh water tank to supply my tm but the problem has become so bad my fresh water tank pump cannot keep up with the supply of water needed to run my water pump. I have started using just a hose from a facut, but by the time I clean one to two rooms my waste tank is full. I have replaced the Heat Bypass valve thinking that was the problem but it did not help. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Thanks for your help
If it's not the bypass valve, then I am at a loss to help. However, assuming you have contacted your distributor about this, please let me know what he says. I would be interested in hearing what the problem is.
Run the machine and look which hose it coming from with a wand hooked up. And follow the hose to the valve thats stuck open. Good Luck
run the machine and then find the hose that goes from the therm valve/by pass valve to the tank..with it running and heated up..pull the line and see if it is dumping water into the tank...I can tell you from experience that just because it is new does not mean that it is working good or it was installed the right way...I had one on my CDS unit that was out of the box new and when it was installed they tightened down the barb to far and it hit the spring and it stuck open...it may be worth double checking.....
By pass solution dumps into the vacuum inlet just about 5'' inside front panel. When machine is cold there should be no solution spraying into the vac tube. When sol heats to temp set on your thermostat it should start dumping. Your problem is either thermostat or dump solenoid is stuck open from scale, junk or old age.
Since you've already replaced your thermal relief that only leave the high temp solenoid. Either one of these going bad can dump a whole lot of water into the waste tank pretty fast. In some cases just taking apart the the solenoid and inspecting and cleaning it will restore it unless it has a bad electrical coil. If the coil goes bad it will remain open and dump water all the time the machine is on. I suggest carefully taking it part paying attention to the parts inside. Especially look for a collapsed spring. Scale can also keep it from closing all the way, but my experience the spring is a more likely culprit. These are pretty simple devices and are not hard to fix. I would be looking for a place that sells repair parts for your particular solenoid. I buy mine direct from the manufacturer, but it's a different brand than yours. If this is a fairly new solenoid I suspect cleaning it will do the trick since the coil shouldn't be bad unless it's at least over a year or two old. The coil can be checked with a 12v Multimeter. Another way to check it for correct operation is to remove the waste tank lid and run the machine several minutes with the temperature turned up and see if water is being dumped. It should not be dumping water unless the temperature is turned down below the actual temperature the machine has reached. When the machine has gotten just a little hotter look inside the waste tank and then turn the temp dial all the way down. It should begin dumping water immediately if it's working right. If it's dumping almost as soon as you turn the machine on there is something wrong with it. If you need any clarification you can PM me. just look down your vac tube inlet; when you first start it. if the water is dumping right away, you most likely have either the manual or automatic by pass stuck open. If it only waits a bit and opens too soon , before reaching the set temp, your thermostat may need calibration. If it does start right away, disconnect either one of the lines meeting at the t or on the outlet side of the solenoid. If water comes from that side, you know which one is causing it. If it comes from both, then both are defective. Usually, the solenoid just needs to be cleaned. To determine if the solenoid is stuck open electrically or by debris, simply disconnect either one of the wires attached to it. If it stops, it's electrical. If it doesn't stop, it's debris and needs to be cleaned. Also, make sure your RPM is set correctly. Too high will cause too much heat and will dump excessively. This is all assuming the temp isn't set less than 200 degrees too.
ive seen th4e electric solenoid stuck open or in backwards...and wired wrong...id check the little solenoid if it has one...ten bucks says if it does...it leaks
