Ok here's my latest problem, not a big one but needs to be addressed..

My performer 405 won't start from Heat Exchanger mode, I have to have the machine running for approx 7+ minutes from a cold start then I can switch my heat exchanger on. If I attempt to switch it on before then the machine will simply die..

I spoke with a guy a Proline he informed me that when in Exhaust mode the oil pressure, low pressure, and high pressure sensors are all bypassed and is probably why it starts right up.

Only reason I would suspect the low pressure sensor is because I've ran out of water a few times and my machine kept running even though my water pressure was at 0..

    What do you guys think?

That might be one of many problems including the sensor. I would quit running out of water and have a professional walk you through your machine and explain how everything works. I have a performer 405 as well and have had similar problems. I would quit beating yourself over the head and spend a little money on professional service.

You need to hold your override every time you start your unit. And you also need to hold your override when switching from exhaust to heat exchanger or else it will die.

Try this test to see what happens.

    1. Hook up your wand...press and hold the trigger.
    2. Start engine in Heat exchanger mode as normal (keep the wand triggered while doing this).

    Let us know what happens...

Sounds like you might have an answer for turning the Heat Exchanger on sooner but I still wonder why I can't cold start with the Heat Exchanger engaged.. I'll try that tomorrow.

I can't cold start the engine in Heat exchanger mode but I can switch to heat exchanger mode once the unit is warmed up.
    I'll try it though..

Ok tried Ara's suggestion to use the override switch while switching into heat exchanger mode didn't work. Machine would die regardless of using it upon cold start or switching to it prior to machine warming up (around 5 minutes of running it before I can switch to heat exchange mode.)

Also tried triggering the wand while starting the machine in Exhaust mode and machine started right up.
Of course no matter what I did it would not cold start in heat exchange mode

Turn the key to the on possition(not running). turn the override and listen for a very faint clicking sound. Every time you turn the override you should hear a very faint click. Thats your anti-dieseling solenoid. If you dont hear a click your anti-dieseling solenoid is bad or the override itself is bad. I honestly think your doing something wrong. You've got to hold the override until it starts up and you see pressure on the gauge. It's not uncommon to have to hold that override for a bit. I don't think your giving it enough time with the override.
