We wash hundreds of rugs a week, and we come across the "problem" rugs more than most... and today these problem rugs are often purchased at Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Williams & Sonoma, and Overstock.com.

Here are some of the big headaches for cleaners - and how to spot them, and how to explain to customers what the problems are before you attempt to clean them... or choose to turn them away.

Hope this helps those of you who may not see many of these rugs around.

    Merry Christmas!

    Lisa

P.S. We are collecting applications for our next training program for another week, so if you are interested in learning rug and fine fabric care from me and Jim Pemberton, send me an email. Hope you enjoy the post! :D

Yea. I have had many lately that are having the last two problems you list, delaminating and Uglying. I've only had one with the bad odor. These cheap rugs piss me off, but on the flip side I get them to release me of liability and acknowledge that there rug is basically worthless and Im trying to save it from the trash can, then I look like a hero when it looks good and smells good but didn't have to sweat bullets cleaning it.
