Ya know I really didn't want to derail some other threads hear so I started this one.

I know I am a newbie hear and all but this debate is really stupid.
Some of you I know are just playing in good fun, others are relentless in your constant badgering of porty owners.

I started my business with some of the worst porty equipment I have ever seen, and oddly I got my first pm customer while a big bad EL D, man was there doing his thing. The PM scepticaly sed I'll give you a try.

I cleaned a really bad 2br for her.

The next day she called and sed I have two more for you. I got there and she sent me to the same unit that the big boys cleaned the day before and it looked like total $hit I half filled a vac bag pre vacing and they had cleaned it the day before.
I have been the only cc to work for her since. This big bad TM operator through away good business by doing crap work I recleaned 8 of his jobs, with my worthless porty non the less. I now do work for 7 PMs in town they have paid for my new trailer and my TM so byte me big boys its not all about who can suck the hardest.

You just gota know how to make the ladies happy with what you have....

Thats the way it should be. This day and age I dont see why somone has to work for several years to become a plumber or electrician.

Technicians make the cleaning good or bad more than machine.

Good machines just help it go better faster.

gotta agree with the torrster

A crew cleaned the day before using an El D and the next day you cleaned and removed a half a bag of stuff.

This wasn't a porty vs TM thing, it was a dummy using the equipment wrong.

Lol, thanks, but hey when your right your right...

ron. Your obviously doing the RIGHT job. So the equipment isn't the biggest factor, but imagine what you can do and how fast when you get what you want and set it up for efficiency!

BTW: those notifications are also for when I quote people in posts, and I have the most quotes than anyone on tmf, not all like/thanks.

Are you serious? Because without the practical experience and knowledge that comes with it, you can kill someone. I'd like to see a program like this established for carpet cleaning.

That's what your mom said, as she was thanking me profusely...

So fracking true it's not even funny. I can clean like a mofo...but I find myself more and more looking forward to the day I mount a slide-in in a trailer...I dream of 300 feet of hose and a 100 gallon waste tank. And heat, OH the heat! And setup times, too.

Don't get me wrong. My Mytee is a great machine for what I paid for it. I've got good suction, and extraction abilities are good. I'm building a business with it...but I have BIG dreams, gentlemen! BIG DREAMS!:bigsmiley:

This is all my point a hack is a hack is a hack. His equipment makes no diff. If he's gona take
the time to do a good job his equipment don't matter.

I got my TM going and it was like winning the big one, lots of heat way more vacuum and psi.

Took an hr plus off my day. But I do the same job I did with my porty, no better no worse.

So my point why are so many so hard on porty users.

I built my business by following TM toting bad assess with I do better work than you because I have a TM.

Well I know three of them that are now out of business and I own ones equipment.
Paid for by re-doing his hack work with a porty .

Yes it makes life easier to run a good TM but dam guys can't we agree a good man can do good work with any equipment
And stop being so dam negative to good people that own portys

That's exactly right. The quality of work done comes from the person holding the wand. The machine being used will determine how efficient one can be with their time. I can take a 100 psi portable with luke warm water and out clean half the truckmount carpet cleaners out there because they either don't know what they are doing or they don't care. That being said I am thankful to have a truckmount so I can work more efficiently and make more money.

So you want a pool, guy comes gives you an estimate, sounds like a fair price, you schedule and all looks set.

Guy shows up on time, all looks well, till he walks to your back yard with a shovel and starts digging.

Now that's a low entry barrier!
