If your trying to quiet down the engine it will work. If your trying to quet down the blower, not a chance. Unless the blower is running at low rpm. Mufflers are really poor at queting blowers unless its low rpm. Other than that it won't harm anything. Just make sure the pipes are larger than the outlet diameter on the blower.

try lowering the rpm to 3000make sure your connections are all tight and good...and yup....ive run mufflers under the van to reduce noise....but...he 800 is only a 40 blower...you shouldnt need to silence it unless you are over reving the mill

You're right on the RPM. 2550 on max. Make sure and use a flo-thru sold for about $50 and inlet and outlets same size as the exhaust. Also, you can buy an actual blower silencer from a blower supplier. The one I use here in TN, is Blocker & Wallace. The cost is quite a bit more though, but meant for it.

They are installed this way on Butlers, Cleancos with no problems. Make sure and wrap it with a heat/moisture proof material if this is what you use.

What is the difference in the blower silencer and a muffler?

Much sturdier, larger inlets, oe open flow, longer, allowing more sound suppression.
