I did a wool rug today and it came out great however there is some paint that didnt come out with the pit wash and cleaning. Is there anything I can use that is safe for wool to remove it?

As long as it is not a fake rug with any type of a laytex backing you can try some odorless mineral spirits for an oil based paint or rubbing alcohol on water based paints without harming the wool. Be careful about scrubbing too hard in one spot. As always test any chemical on any rug you use it on before going ahead full bore (especially with alcohol on a potential bleeder), but I have never had any problems using odorless mineral spirits on wool.

You should be safe using either odorless mineral spirits or rubbing alcohol on that rug. Try the OMS first since it works best on dry fabric, apply it and let it soak for 10 minutes and try agitating with a white towel & rinsing with an upholstery wand to remove. You may want to use a scraper (lightly) for some added agitation. If that does not work try the same process with the alcohol. OMS works best for oil based paint and alcohol works for water based paint.
