I have 2 rugs in the shop. One small one smells like a dog (not a wet dog but like dirty dog). Overall it is pretty clean. second one is 6x9 - smells musty like a basement. Both are hand woven both have been extracted and are overall in pretty good shape and appear fairly clean. I was thinking of skunk out by Masterblend but was also recommended to maybe use urine lock. Any thoughts?
I don't have any thoughts. Sorry. But what would Odorcide or Freshwave IAQ do to a rug? Would they be a safe solution?
Not sure - I know that urine lock is wool safe. I have used other stuff in th epast but looking for some new stuff that may work.
Urine Pretreatment from ChemMax is highly effective om odors. You need to use goggles and gloves but it does work. They also make Triple Deodorizer Shampoo. Best wishes, Barry O’Connell http://www.orientalrugtalk.com
I have one im getting ready to wash...It looks clean and has no trace of urine on the backing but the lady insist it has a urine smell..It was recently cleaned by a local competitor ..Im looking for something as well. I may go with Bridgepoint's TCU Neutralizer from interlink.
A new line of products for wool rugs was released by Bridgepoint Systems yesterday. However it will be about the first week in November before we begin shipping all the products to all distributors. One I am glad to have a chance to work with is Hydrocide for wool. It is formulated to work with the structure and absorbency of wool fibers and wool rugs. Works great. We have some fantastic experiences from our field testing.
Thanks Scott - any way to get samples sent? Sounds like they would be perfect for these rugs. Can't wait till Nov though.
Use Odorcide 210 Original or Fresh Scent to remove those odors from the rugs. Unique chemistry, safe to use and highly effective. Go to www.odorcide.com for a free sample and more information.
