Whenever greasing a suspension or drive line always make sure the tempurature is near ambient. Cold weather greasing can break seals or boots.
And please do not let your automotive mechanic grease your PD blower. Most mechanics shoot grease. Shooting grease can ruin the bearings and blow the cover.

Now that is an excellent tip. I always wondered why after I took my WM to the local distributor the bearing front plate blew off. He said it was probably bad but now I know it's cause he does blow in the grease. Thanks Ara!

Ara, what temperature are you suggesting is too low? Ambient is not an actual temp it is merely the surrounding temp in a given ennvironment. The ambient temp could be 100 degrees or -20 degrees.

I don't remember the exact specs chris. Sorry chris, warmer ambient temps. Meaning vehical is the same temp as the room. I suggest looking in a chiltons or any gm owners manual. If you really must know. Rubbers and polymers become brittle and crack under pressure when cold.

Thanks Ara, I guess you were assuming that the vehicle was in a garaage or something. Thanks for the clarification. ;-)
