Ok all you guys with truckmount equipment I need some suggestions on how to setup my equipment in my van. I am currently swapping out all of my stuff from my trailer (truckmount and hose reels) and putting it into my van.

I know some of you might be wondering why I would do such a thing. The truth of the matter is I have never really liked dealing with towing it. Yeah, it has tons of space, but it really bites when I don't have room to park it at a job or when I have no way to turn it around down a long narrow road. After 4 years of dealing with it I am beyond ready to retire it.

So, I am getting it done on Monday. Problem is, I don't know the best way to maximize the space in my van (where am I going to fit it all?):AddEmoticons04259:

    Here is what I have:

2002 Ford E250 Extended Cab (Yes I already had the spray liner done today. Got it sprayed on floors through the front, walls and ceiling)

Powerclean Freedom XT truckmount with 70 gallon waste tank

Hose Reel w/250 ft 2in vacuum hose
    Solution Reel w/250 ft hose
Fresh Water hose reel (same as Solution Reel) w/100 ft garden hose
100 ft Extra Garden Hose (for auto pump out without a reel currently)
3 Tier Shelf (over the wheel well on passenger side most likely)

Note: 80% of the work I do is tile or stone so I don't use a fresh water tank and I am using the auto dump out at almost every job pumping into the customer's sewer line (usually at the end of the driveway).

    Turbo tool
    Carpet Wand
    Rotovac Powerwand
    2 Airpaths
    1 Standard Air Mover
    17in Swing Machine
    13in Oreck Orbiter
    Kirby Vacuum
    Carpet power stretcher
and other smaller tools (ie: Stair wand, Mini Turbo, Makita 9227 etc...)

Obviously, I will be putting the TM at the side slider behind the passenger seat, but as far as the hose reels I just don't know what to do.

Do I put the Vacuum reel all the way to the back with the other two smaller reels on its (vacuum reel) side? Or have the smaller ones at the back mounted side by side, on the floor, in front of the vacuum reel giving me more room to the side of the reels? Or mount the small reels on the two back doors? Or do I have the solution line reel at the side next to the TM (or even mount it above it from the ceiling)? I have also thought about mounting the small spray bottle shelves on the back door but is it the best way to go?

I've seen a lot of guys do different things and just want to see what some of you have done and pick your brain as to what you like and dislike about your van setup.

So please post any photos you might have of your van setup if you can.

Here is a picture of how my reels are set up- with the shelf on the passenger side, the picture is not the best, not real clear. It might give you an idea though.

    Thanks for the photo.

Does having the small reels all the way to the back still leave any room behind the vacuum reel?

Great. Good to know. Thanks again for posting a photo showing behind the hose reel.

Anyone have the small reels mounted on the rear doors?

Serious. Only one person is helping out? I was hoping for a bit more than that.

Even if you don't have photos to post I would like to get some input on what people like or dislike about their van setup.

I would like to have had more time to figure it out but my wife just gave birth to our new son three days ago and I have been very busy with that. Therefore, not a lot of time to spend discussing options with the guy doing the transfer.

DO NOT MOUNT REALS ON THE BACK DOOR. The hinges are not designed to carry the extra weight and your doors will not operate properly over time as the hinges BEND. My setup is almost Identical to 2cleans.....Most vans I have looked at are set up very similar. Seems to be the tried and tested best layout.......
I would guess that is why you are not getting too many responses....Not folks being rude....there just isn't much too add....The 2 posted pictures, say it all.

    Just my 2 cents

Thanks. That makes sense about the doors and knowing that helps out a lot.

It's funny because over the last year I have been wanting to do this and I have seen different set ups over that time but I can't seem to find all of the photos now. That is why I started the post. Just to see if others had different ways that I could see. It's one thing also to here it from the mechanic but another to see it in a photo. Thanks again.

here are pictures of my first van....with the blower shelf up toward the front..it saves room and gives a lot of storage...chemical rack on right and softener on the left .....and extra the room for rotaries or what ever....mind you ..this set up is for working your reels out the side door.........

Awesome guys. Thanks. Now my brain is really spinning.

I think I will try to mount the two small reels over the TM from the ceiling. Then if possible do the same as A. Jim with the storage space under the vacuum reel. That is a sweet setup.
