Has anyone ever used DRY ICE as a blasting media in regards to mold remediation? I should be getting my protocol from the IAQ Specialist back tomorrow or Thursday and start this mold project by Sunday. Any thoughts with dry ice vs soda blasting?

Anyone have a used machine they want to get rid of soon?

    Thanks,

Dry ice is a better option, less cleanup being one of the biggest reasons. Contact sunbelt rentals, they have units available at a reasonable price. You can also get the compressor from them.

Dry ice does save on clean-up. It has some potential downsides. Dry ice can not be used in a confined area unless you take precautions. It releases a lot of carbon dioxide pushing out oxygen. Dry ice also has to be kept cold so ends up being an added cost compared to soda.

Also consider the surface being cleaned. You can vary the aggressiveness of soda used so that it doesn't scare the surface.

Dry ice is great for surface removal. Unfortunately mold has a root system called vegatative hyphia (sp).

Easier to use the SERUM SYSTEM and get it all the first time.

We use this system all the time and it kicks butt.

I've cleaned a lot of mold so I can tell you don't use bleach to get out mold.

COOL , how expensive is the serum system? i have done the soda blasting and it SUCKS!!!- from a laborer viewpoint time intensive setup blaster doesnt have a vibrator so you have to shake it all the time, boss wont buy a blast helmet so eyes get irratated.
i would like to see how dry ice or better yet serum system work,
spray on come back an hour later vacuum it up and encapsulate.
