What would you use to clean a mattress, and to remove dust mites - and would you spray that chemical on their pillows as well?
We do but there is not much of a market here for it. We use MasterBlends Anti-Allergen products. Over the years I have cleaned them with SteamVapor, Host powder and truckmount and portable. . He explains after a visit to his Mother-in-laws in Europe that they get this service twice a year and that is what inspired him to write and put together a program for it. Craig Jasper has been teaching about it for over 2 years. I would recommend getting Masterblends book on Anti-Allergern Services, It's free and the most comprehensive study and instructions I have ever seen. written by Allen Grossclose (probably misspelled)
I offer it but only one person has ever wanted this service (his dog peed on a new mattress so I cleaned it as if I was cleaning a piece of furniture). Normally I would use vacuum only from my furniture tool. Trying to clean out a mattress is like trying to clean your front lawn. I think most people realize it is a waste of money.
not alot of call for it in my area but I think maybe I should start pushing it like I push carpet cleaning?
jay you should push every thing not just mattress. what about tile and grout, upholstery and more. you are living to many dollar notes behind in the customers house
How often should they be cleaned? And after cleaning, how long should you tell the customer that they can lay back onto the mattress?
once that hot water touch that... wont be no need in having the pest control license... LMAO hahaha LOL
I clean mine with my TM and upholstery tool Probably not enough but i suggest to customers once a year I believe there is a machine out there that is basically a Kerby vac with some sort of UV light that is supposed to kill dust mites as it vacuums off.
i clean quite a few for a furniture warranty company. better have some 20-30 vol clear developer in your spotting kit. most mattresses are a bleand of cotton and synthetic. vacuum with a good filtered vac and use an enzyme type prespray.
Do check MasterBlends info on the subject. We just started getting into it. Here allergies are a BIG selling point. My plan is to be sure how to do it first. Then speak to ENT's and allergy specialist about it. IF that works, I am hoping they will refer the business.
ive done them for the dive motels on the way into atlantic city, they should be thrown out but they pay me so furniture tool and steri-fab to sanatize it. works great. the real dirty ones i use the wand and hose them way to grungy to touch
