I have a targeted list of homes in my area that I want to mail postcards to. How often should I mail to these homes?
I worked for a very successful carpet cleaning company out of Indianapolis for six years and they mailed fliers every six months with good results, but I don't know the exact numbers. Of course, it helps that they have a full office staff printing, addressing, and stamping each post card sized flier. I'm assuming it would cost a lot more to hire a marketing firm to do it for you???
Eyeball, with a good printer (yes one u can buy...not the person) you can do it for pennys even with postage. I do my own inserts, total cost on about 3500 is roughly .20 each. The best part is I control EVERYTHING! Pictures, designs, logos. For mailings, its a little more expensive (I have to cut and print) the postcards myself. Just a thought.... Mark
You can if you have it, but no I use MS Publisher. I find it easier than the rest for layout and design. When I print I use the commercial printing tool to switch it over to cymk colors. I find this gives the closest match to photos. If you need any help, feel free to pm me and I'd be happy to give you a hand. Mark
Too much junk mail and you could turn off your potential customers too. I personally think constant mailings are a bad thing. But once or twice a year is good if timed well. Just my opinon!
At least 2-3 Times to even make an impact, The more brandable your business model is the easier this will be, call me anytime with questions!
The imediate assumption is that all markets are the same. They are not. Some get much more "junk mail" than others and the response will vary. So the answer to your question is TEST it. Start with whatever number you wish and adjust it from there, up or down but start the test now. The flyer I use now has been tweeked over a hundred times. By that I mean I passed out 500 to 1000 then changed something about the flyer. But the easy answer is however many you can and still get a profitalbe response. Ken Raddon.
Good point Ken. All markets are not the same. Take our area, it is dominated by military bases, depressed income and transistional customers. That's why YP"s worked well for us! Rob Allen.
Yes I agree, good point. What works well for one will not work well for someone else in another area. For example YP doesnt work at all in my area. Its middle-high wealth retired area with zero industry. They call who they have heard about from word of mouth and most of them try to find my number in a four year old phonebook.
Here in metro ATL. we get so much junk mail I'll bet 90% of the people don't even read it. I agree different areas of the country require different methods for marketing. Joe
