    Another idea...

As you know, Im not in the CC business, but doing marketing research for my launch.

Do you have customers come to you for a second opinion or cleanup from other cleaners that couldn't get their carpet as clean as they would like or perhaps a stain/spot that wouldn't come out?

How about a marketing campaign like...

"If your regular carpet cleaner cant get it clean then call us!
If WE can't clean it either, NO CHARGE" type of campaign.

That would possibly make people to feel that you have the confidence and ability. If you can get in their home/business and resolve their issue... BAM! Life long client!

    What ya think?

I would think it is good to know what the spot is so you are not doing too many free ones. I have not done a marketing campaign like that. I do however, have many good clients because I told them I would be glad to look at what they had and would be glad to fix it if it can be. I have two of those clients that are probably worth about 25k + in my first six months. Being new I looked at it as an opportunity to try out what I had learned in certification classes. SOOO... my guinea pigs became my best source of referrals!!!

Move on this with caution. Many stains are made worse or set completely by cleaning methods used by the home-owner or the first untrained cleaner.

A spot that you could have gotten out - if you were the first to try - may not respond to your cleaning attempts after someone else has had a go or two at it.

Totally agree with Scott. Also you don't know what was used on the spot, and you could easily own this spot or cause damage attempting to get it out. You can't promise to work miracles if you do you'll go broke really quick.
