Later today I am going to look at an older used Banshee TM that Jimsteam turned me onto. It comes with a waste tank and hose reel. Has a roots 36 blower and 3 piston pump. Also has a rebuilt motor, diesel. Does not have any heat but I can use my Little Giant for that.
The guy said it runs fine and I plan on having him run it for me. My question is do any of you have any advice for me before I party with what little cash I have? I'm getting it for pretty cheap, almost too cheap which kind of worries me. But again, if it runs I guess I'm getting it unless otherwise adviced not to. Here are some pictures of it. Thanks all, Johnny

I don't know much about the Banshee but I bet it sips diesel. To bad you don't have a diesel heater then you would just burn one fuel.

That's how I approached my panther.
I got it for $800.00, along with a spinner, 17" 175, and some other misc stuff, never looked back, I'm loving it.
Still got the recoil, in fact last week, we were doing a hotel, so I used the TM, and my helper used the porty at the same time, in an area we could not get to with the TM.
    Knocked it out.

run as far as you can from that thing. nothing than trouble. believe me you will spend more than you make every month to keep it running. It will brake down on 75% of your jobs and will cost you a fortune to get fixed. It was build by some guys located it OC number one thieves you could ever meet.

Shoot, if you can get a decent cheap price on it I would snatch it up, even if it was a basket case it would still be a good summertime night project.

Depends on how handy you are, and if you dont mind tinkering with it, and how cheap it is.
For the right price, you may get it set up, working good, then sell for a profit, then find another better one.

The way I look at it too, I still have the porty to back me up, but so far, I don't need it, the tm is running fine.

I don't know much about working on truck mounts but I think it is missing the battery and fuel tank. Todd can it be test started as it is set up?

The engine actually has its own fuel tank up on top. Johnny said it can be started with a key which would require a battery or they can just use the pull rope to start it without the battery.

Forget the TM. Use the money on marketing. Get to where you're working 4 out of 5 full days with the porty. Bring the business in, and then when it gets to be too heavy to be handled with the M5, then buy a NICE TM.

I would take it without thinking twice and clean her up and run it.

I'm with Timothy on this one. I would not think twice. Look up a new small diesel engine on ebay they are not cheap compared to gas engines. I bet it runs for a long time and has more torque then a gas engine in it's class and sips that diesel. Clean her up and run it. If anything is wrong with it, were all here to help you it is not that hard to work on it is just a engine, blower, pump and some hoses and gauges. There is not even a heat exchanger, very easy to work on. I like how compact it is. This a Ford Transit Connect Van install if you like to do.

Well everyone, I bought it. The thing started up fine when he hooked a battery up to it. I casually put my hand by the opening of the blower and it just about pulled my fingers in there, actually scared me.
Needs to be worked on. I think seals for the pump are needed and new hoses and plumbing. As I said before it has a Roots 36 blower and it seems to be working fine. Motor is a diesel and runs, was told they just used it 10 hours after they got it and no longer use it. Pump was leaking a little water so I figured it needed seals.
Got the waste tank and hose/solution reel too.
    Total $900.00

I figured it would cost more then that in parts. So we shall see what happens. Thanks all for your advice and support. My new name will now be Truck Mount Master :)
