    Hi all,

    I have the eclipse 500psi porty. I need to run some longer hoses from it and wanted to ask you guys from your experience whats the longest hose I could run from a porty? Do you lose suction after going beyond a certain point? I have a bunch of jobs coming up and I want to leave the porty outside the house.

    Thanks!

    Correct. And that was 2" hose.

    Exactly, simple test.

    Yeah could test but didn't want to go out and buy a 100ft hose to find out it doesn't work out.

    Okay, I see now. But you know, what kind of vacuum motor or motors you have makes a major difference as well. What do you have as far as they are concerned?

    I'm with Johnny here, depends on vacs and configuration, my speedster 1000dx can do 25 ft, M5+ 150 ft, Escape ETM 200 ft, add a booster then you have a whole new story

    Now the ideal run for optimal vac would be M5+ 100, Escape 150 with out boosters and the shorter the hose run the better on any, and of course run 2 inch hose

    I have gone 150 ft with my M5, but 90% of my jobs only need 100 ft or less. And thats keeping my M5 in my trailer.

    I am not familiar with your Extractor but with those vacs you should be able to get 100-150 with no problems,

    In my area most hose runs are 100 ft or less about 80-90 %

    Also make sure your generator can handle all the power you are going to run.

    Im getting a 6000w generator capable of having up to 2 20amp circuits. I should be good with that right. Any one know the best place to buy hoses from?

    I have the eclipse 500psi porty. I need to run some longer hoses from it and wanted to ask you guys from your experience whats the longest hose I could run from a porty? You can go as far as you want if you don't care how long the carpets take to dry. Do you lose suction after going beyond a certain point?
    Yep the farther you go out the more CFMs you will lose again the DRY thing I have a bunch of jobs coming up and I want to leave the porty outside the house
    Booster is an great suggestion but will add a 3rd cord and longer set up/breakdown times . This is where the suggestion of a generator will greatly reduce your breakers popping (only assuming you have popped a few ) and make you more productive.
    100 ft?? Anybody's guess whether or not you or your clients will be satisfied with the outcome.
    Everyone has their own definition of DRY carpets.
    100 ft of solution Line
    100 ft of vacuum hose
    Inline booster
    Generator
    ----------
    = $$$$

    FYI I've run 201 ft w/o a booster haha peace

    Longer hose means you have to slow down on the wand strokes. You might not get out faster. Carpets will be wetter when you leave.
    I can get out faster with quick dry times runnin 25' and backing up the porty to the front door.. 50' max.

    For example Jan or anyone who loves to run 150-200'. If we both had the same job. I will leave before him with faster dry times @ 25-50' hose run. Bet? :cool:

    Its about the home owner too, I don't care for the hassle of "oh this isnt a truck mount" If you can get where I'm coming from, how often do you deal with that situation?

    I cant speak for the other extractors, I have never run another porty except Mytee, but different carpets and fibers have a play in dry times, I cannot tell any difference at 100 ft hose runs on the M5+ than running 25 ft, like I said it will play a factor in carpet type, some dry better than others, but anything under 4-6 hours have been widely excepted in my area for the last 20 years, so if it dry quicker you are the hero!

    @Jim
    FYI I've run 202 ft w/o a booster :bigsmiley: lol

    Watts = Amps x Volts
    Myself and Tim use the Rigid 6800/8500 watt generator from home Depot
    I believe Gman had an Robbins up for sale ?
    I purchase my hose's from Cross-America.
