It's amazing how much better a 2004+ Chevy Express Van drives then a Box truck!

Why would anyone buy a box truck unless they absolutely needed the room would they could get a Chevy Express 2500 van?

In CA the cost to register a box truck is outrageous! So you'd have to be making lots of $$.

some people know how to make them work to there advantage and some don't......I get 16 to 17 mpg in my truck......that includes running the machine....that is better then most vans and pretty equal to others.....it drives like a Lexus...power to spare and I have all the room I need for anything I want to do and then some....in some cases it cost more to fix....but I have way less break downs because the thing is built to haul weight and it puts no strain on the engine, transmission or other parts that would normally have to strain to haul a heavy load......put a 150 gallon waste tank...a large CC machine....cimax..RX-20...360i..kinetico water softener..and all your tools, chemicals and all the extra things you may think you need in a extended van and let me know how well that works for you after about 6 months....you will put it threw a slow pain full death...and spend more money then me in repairs.....been there ....done that.....Plus I have the huge advertising driving all over town....the positives out weigh the negatives hands down if you do it right...... ...But....from what I am hearing threw the CC grape vine......not good to have one in California.....

drives just like a van..you just have to remember you have a bit more butt back there...the biggest thing to remember is when you are in a tight spot..like between 2 cars..next to a gas pump ....make sure you pull out far enough before you turn or you will pitch the back of the truck into something...or someone....

    Jim,
I believe those are merely rebadged Isuzu trucks. I did some research in the last 15 minutes and they say those trucks have Isuzu engines. That makes me think the whole truck is Isuzu, just like the Dodge Sprinters are really Mercedes.

One thing I miss about having a van is being able to run it through a car wash.

I wonder because the Isuzu trucks seem to have very beefy frames.

I think the Isuzu frame can be more compared to the W3500..If I remember correct the w3500 runs 16 inch tires ...the w4500 runs the 19.5 and everything is more beefed up....

Unless you do apartments and need to fit under things a small box van wouldn't, I feel just the opposite. A 10 foot box van is no longer or wider than a regular van, just a little taller. You can stand up in them. Your cab is kept warm or cool without the smells and noise of a regular van. Shelving is a breeze and more efficient than a van. About the same gas mileage. Better image that sets you apart from the crowd of cargo vans. I live in CA and though my wife pays the bills, I don't think it cost me any more than a cargo van.

Now the bigger vans I aggree with you. I had a 14 foot box with a big 460 cu. in. engine and had terrible mileage, difficult to park, too long a wheel base, harder and more time consuming to keep clean, etc.

I love my small box van. www.deltasteamway.com

A 16' Box Truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 15,000-20,000 lbs will set you back about $950 just to register it!!

By the way nice video Fox, I would of never thought of taking 50' of vacuum hose off the reel to prevent dragging it! I will now though.
