Folks, I have a portable with a 500 psi electric motor/water pump combo. The electric motor works perfectly fine because it turns, the problem is with the water pump of which it is turning. It turns on but new water comes out. I took it apart but have no idea what the problem is.

If anyone knows what needs to be replaced, please let me know! Thanks!

If you have a plumbers / hardware shop around check them out. You might want to bring the head to a pump seller, someone that specialized in high pressure sprayers. have them look at it, just might need rubber part.

You might want to call these people up. http://www.dultmeier.com/products/search/1596 They have been very helpful to me in the past and also have great prices on replacements for your pump. I used that same type of pump for years, but found getting one rebuilt was too much hassle and fairly expensive. I found a place locally that sold them for just a little more than what a rebuild would cost so I always bought a new one when mine went bad. In my experience with them you would be very lucky to get maybe 2 years before they need either rebuilt or replaced and less if you really put it under very heavy use. I've had them go bad in about a year. I would suggest saving yourself some grief and just buy a new one.

Btw, I'm assuming you know only the pump head needs replacing. Those motors are very durable and should last for years. Swapping out the pump head is a pretty simple fix that takes less than 30 minutes.

Oh ok, gotcha. yeah the guy from the manufacturer called me and said that I should spray some wd-40 into the "in" port and force it through to the "out" port with an air compressor. I'll try that and if it doesn't work then might have to just buy a new pump and attach it to the existing electric motor.

Hey I have a reward out on anyone solving my "non pumping portable" issues and still have a big useless piece of junk sitting in the shop.

We are turning away jobs now because we have no inplant machine that will run.
