How do I get started making similar product from scratch?

Citrus-solv is so expensive that it's not even funny.

Folks are right, you really don't listen, do you?

The main active ingredient is D Limonene, along with (depending on who's product you buy) petroleum solvents, emulsifiers, detergents, etc.

Do a google search for Technical-Grade or Food-Grade D Limonene and see what prices you come up with, like this:

    http://www.greenterpene.com/d_Limonene_Orange_Terpenes_Food_Grade_p/001005527.htm

    See? expensive stuff....

With the huge rise in costs of food grade d'limonene this year, we may be selling this at a loss. So, your best deal may be to buy it right from your distributor. :)

Be sure to get a product that is 100% solvent. If the price is low, it is likely water downed or otherwise does not contain a high percentage of d'limonene.

Be sure to consider that any home-brewed products means you also assume liability if anything happens with them.

If you want to make your own because cit solv is to expensive then why not just buy some cheaper stuff :AddEmoticons04259: But rubbing and orange on the carpet wont get the spots out. If you go cheap you will get cheap results.

there you go, one of the best in the idustry. Used in numerous oil spill clean up operations. Safe and effective with no added solvents. Just pure d-limonene.

My friend has a PHD in organic chemistry and he referred me to this stuff when I complained about the high price of carpet cleaning d-limonene products. This stuff is strong, dilute it properly at 6oz or less in the hydroforce.

Announcement - Bridgepoint released a new product at Connections. Several cleaners from this board helped us develop the product. it si called PINE BOOST.

Pine Boost is a terpene based prespray booster and solvent that works very similar to Citrus Solv. However, it is based on terpenes from pine oils instead of citrus oils. At the current price levels, this will make Pine Boost at least $10 per gallon cheaper than Citrus Solv for the same strength product.

Pine Boost can be order starting today and will begin to be shipped in the next few weeks.

You guys who have tried it out are now free to make whatever comments you wish.
