I dont know if I'm gonna try, it's not even dirty but it's a high end custy I like, the just want everything fresh. This thing is not like anything I've ever cleaned.
I hate those. Vacuuming and the 175 rotary does nothing for it. I think this needs to go in a rug bath.
I have tried cleaning a couple of those before, one even said on the tag on the back that it is actually made from bamboo. They are a pain to try and clean, the best thing you can do if it is not heavily soiled is to use the carpet wand and dry vacuum really good. This would be an interesting one to use a rug badger on and see what all comes out of it.
I would advise custy that this is a wool carpet designed for use in a "showcase" setting and not meant for every day, all day traffic and if used as such it will lead to problems.
I had one just like it. But I took it to a local area rug cleaner. When I pick it up he tells me I could have cleaned it with my truck mount and dried with air moves. What was the result of your fiber test?
I have a client that has the exact rug, in green. I told her from the time of purchase it's not getting wet cleaned. I would do nothing more that a dry vac on it. However, if she wants me to haul it and beat the crap out of it at my shop, I'd be happy too.
We both already knew it was wool, but it's just soo thick and knotty that I figure a vacuumed is worthless, it's bright white so I'd be afraid of making it dirtier even letting it touch my van or shop floor. I just don't think I'll mess with it till my rug pits and dusting areas are done. I just got the rug grids last week. Still have a lot of rearranging and plumbing to do. I just wanted to see of anyone else had any bright ideas on how they would tackle it? Thanks for all the thoughts so far!
